HERE’S a visiting chef who’s bound to have all tongues wagging and palates salivating – Michel Roux. Michel and his brother Albert opened Le Gavroche restaurant in London in 1967 and it became the first restaurant in Britain to gain three Michelin Stars. In 1972 the duo opened the Waterside Inn at Bray, Berkshire, and that also went on to gain three Michelin stars. It remains the only establishment outside France to have retained those coveted stars for over 25 years.
Michel will stage his Asian culinary debut at Le Normandie, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, from Nov 14 – 19. A five-course lunch will be available for 5,062 baht; six-course dinner for 9,416 baht; and, on Nov 19, a special seven-course wine dinner at 12,830 baht.
