The Chloé Fall 2019 collection designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi embodies a sense of deconstructed glamour and a playful, aristocratic elegance. A cast of characters emerges, their independent attitude highlighting the contrast of soft Chloé allure and a sharp modernity.
With touches of Persian finery suffused throughout, the Chloé girl’s wanderlust remains – her wardrobe intertwined with midcentury codes of the Parisian BOURGEOISIE.
Transposing potent femininity with utilitarian strength, sophisticated layers define the silhouette: dresses are worn over trousers and skirts, intricate knits mingle with bias-cut silk, and boyish tailored pieces are paired with languid moments of flou. A palette of rust, persimmon, fuschia, lavender and carnelian pop through the classic shades of blush, olive, camel, and denim blues that define the maison. Textural fabrics create sensual and unexpected harmonies, from panné and crinkled velvets to fantasy lurex jacquards, monogram silks, tough leather, and sartorial wool. Prints become an opulent graphic device as nostalgic florals, trompe l’oeil houndstooth, and the Chloé ‘femininities’ icons illustrated as baroque cameos, whilst a new mirrored ‘C’ monogram appears as an all-over jacquard.
Reprising a languid flare, high-waisted trousers perpetuate a softly A-line silhouette, underpinning archetypal outerwear styles from a duffel, trench coat and cape to shrunken boyish blazers or hunting jackets. Dresses fall in soft volumes: some gather at the neck with a pointed handkerchief sleeve, others reinterpret the Chloé silk blouse in tonal florals and bias-cut apron shapes. Itself a key statement, the blouse is rendered in myriad iterations, cut with flyaway scarf collars, delicate lace ruffles, and a pleated military plastron.

The Fall 2019 accessories collection introduces a pair of new Chloé day bags. The ‘Chloé C’ clasp handbag and the ‘Tess’ return in camouflage lizard embossed marquetry and ombré glazed calfskin. ‘Aby’ and ‘Annie’ – both styles that evolve iconic details like the leather lock and fob chain device into spacious, ergonomic designs for daily life. Crafted in supple deerskin, the ‘Aby’ features a shoulder strap and top handle design and is encircled by a tonal belt device that closes with the signature Chloé padlock. The ‘Annie’ is a boxy chain-link handbag with eyelet details that closes with a turnkey and fob chain clasp in goldtone hardware. Grounding the season’s eclectic flair, the solid, curvy ‘wave’ heel returns on a pointed boot and square-toed penny loafer, both rising in ankle and calf-high styles cut in embossed croc, snakeskin, and calfskin leathers. Complementing the Chloé ‘femininities’ jewelry collection, new designs feature baroque pearl and natural shell embellishments, whilst naïve ‘aluminium’ hammered metalwork becomes twisted bracelets, hoop earrings and a flat sautoir.
