Sweet Poppy has opened its doors in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. Located just half an hour from central Bangkok, Sweet Poppy is designed to bring the local as well as the wider Bangkok community together to enjoy good food and drink, activities and events.
Central to Sweet Poppy is the restaurant, café and juice bar. Inspired by Australia’s world-famous café culture, Sweet Poppy serves a menu of wholesome, healthy dishes made with sustainably and mostly organic produce. The breakfast and brunch menu features all-time favourites such as Avocado on toast with tomato, feta and basil, as well as more unique takes on the ‘Aussie’ brunch such as Poached eggs with hummus, avocado, roast peppers and quinoa tabbouleh. Those with a sweet tooth can dig into the Ricotta hot cakes with candied banana, whipped ricotta, walnuts, honeycomb and maple butter.
The all-day menu features small plates such as Burrata with jamon serrano, papaya, pickled green chili and mint, and Daily bread with butter and eggplant-pepper spread, as well as salads and bowls such as the popular Grains bowl with pearl barley, quinoa, chickpeas, broccoli, spinach, edamame and feta tossed in a miso dressing. Those looking for something a little more substantial can enjoy larger plates including BBQ butterflied prawns with lemon, garlic parsley and smoked paprika butter, and Duck leg confit with green lentils, frisee and pear and saffron chutney.
The Sweet Poppy juice bar serves a selection of carefully crafted smoothies and juices. Visitors can choose from the likes of Yoga Burn made with spinach, avocado, cucumber, bok choy, rocket, banana and pomegranate, or Holy Cacao with coconut, avocado, dates, papaya, banana, cacao and vanilla or almond milk. All smoothies can be made with non-dairy alternatives.
The Sweet Poppy bakery offers a selection of dessert, breads, buns and biscotti as well as made-to-order birthday cakes.
The ingredients are all sustainably and in most cases organically sourced with meats and meat products supplied by artisan butchers, such as Sloane’s and The Accidental Butcher, known for their free-range, hormone free meats. The kitchen caters to a variety of dietary needs and preferences, offering vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
