After gaining more than 25 years of experience in some of the world’s best kitchens, including Michelin-starred Chez Panisse in the US as well as River Café in London and his own venue at InterContinental London Park Lane, in 2015 Chef Theo Randall brought his approach to fine Italian food to Asia for the very first time. The chef’s Theo Mio at InterContinental Bangkok, which opened in August 2015, has since become a citywide favorite with its focus on exciting seasonal menus created with top-quality local ingredients as well as hand-picked Italian produce. Commenting on his newly opened restaurant at the time, Theo Randall said, “Italian food is all about celebrating the ingredients and preparing dishes that allow diners to explore and enjoy a culinary journey in an environment that is fun and relaxed. At Theo Mio, I want to give guests the opportunity to sample some truly exciting dishes.” |
One year on, Bangkok most discerning diners agree he’s accomplished all that and more.
Along with a ground-floor setting offering great views onto one of the city’s liveliest downtown districts, the restaurant features an open-kitchen concept allowing guests to view all the culinary action inside as well. For main course, diners can look forward to menu highlights such as Carpaccio of Beef Fillet; Fritto Misto with Local Shrimp; Pan-Fried Squid with Fresh Chili; Tagliarini with Brown Shrimp and Artichokes; and Chef Theo’s famous Cappeletti di Vitello with Porcini Mushroom Sauce, winner of “Best Restaurant Dish for 2014” as deemed by Tatler magazine in the U.K.
Dining at Theo Mio is further enhanced by an extensive drinks list of aperitifs, signature cocktails, and wines and sparkling wines including Italian vintages and prosecco.
