The legendary "Race of Legends" returns! Laguna Phuket, Asia’s premier integrated destination, is thrilled to announce the 30th edition of the iconic Laguna Phuket Triathlon. This prestigious event will take place on November 16-17, 2024 at Laguna Grove, and promises to be a grand celebration of its world-class competition and breathtaking tropical setting. Marking three decades of excellence in the world of triathlon, this year's event will introduce new and more challenging triathlon course, attracting over 1,000 triathletes and enthusiasts from across the globe while contributing to the excitement of the peak tourist season from November 2024 to April 2025
As Southeast Asia’s longest-running and most successful triathlon event, the Laguna Phuket Triathlon's 30th edition is made possible through vital collaborations with national powerhouses such as Phuket Province, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thai Airways, and among others.

The "30th Laguna Phuket Triathlon" will offer thrilling challenges, including a Triathlon (Elite, Individual, and Team Relay) featuring signature race distances of a 1.8 km swim in the Andaman Sea and lagoon, a 50 km bike ride through Phuket’s picturesque countryside and villages, and a 12 km run within Laguna Phuket. For a different level of excitement, there's the Sprint Triathlon (0.5 km swim, 20 km bike, and 6 km run) and a Duathlon (4 km run – 50 km bike – 12 km run), allowing athletes to experience the race’s signature bike course. This exciting triathlon boasts a generous prize pool totaling $20,000.

The popular "Charity Fun Run" returns, offering a 6 Km run for families, friends, and the community to enjoy a day of fun and fitness on Saturday, November 16th. Additionally, the launch of the new "Laguna Phuket Open Water Swim Presented by TriHub," is a challenging new event for those wanting to push their limits in Phuket's stunning waters, welcoming both seasoned triathletes and first-time swimmers. For competitive triathletes, the new Sprint Triathlon award categories will add an extra layer of excitement to the race.
The legendary event will also feature a lineup of world-class triathletes, including two legends: Simon Thompson, who won in 2003 and placed 2nd in 2004, and Yvonne Van Vlerken, who placed 3rd in the female championship in 2017. There will be 12 pro male athletes: Richard Varga, Charlie Quin, Joel Wooldridge, Gaetan Fetaud, Max Stapley, Tom Bishop, Tayler Ried, Jonas Schomburg, Per Van Vlerken, Antony Costes, Guy Crawford and Massimo Cigana; and 7 pro female athletes: Kate Bevilaqua, Kate Waugh, Sian Rainsley, Nicole Van Der Kaay, Milan Agnew, Cassie Heaslip, and Dimity Lee Duke.
