The French Foreign Trade Advisors (Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France or CCEF) hosted an exclusive VIP cocktail party in the evening of June 15th, 2024, at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, serving as the grand finale of the celebration of the “Olympic Day” event in Bangkok, Thailand.
Earlier in the day, the “Olympic Day: Road to Paris 2024” event at Benchakitti Park was co-organized by the Thai Olympic National Committee, the French Embassy in Thailand, and the French Foreign Trade Advisors in Thailand (CCEF). Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed sports demonstrations, workshops, and an open-air musical festival featuring renowned Thai and French bands and musicians. The event culminated with a prestigious celebration of the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, to be held in Paris, France, from July 26th to August 11th, 2024. The evening's VIP cocktail party was organized by the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF) in Thailand and promised a night of elegance and inspiration. Arnaud Bialecki, President of the French Foreign Trade Advisors in Thailand, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “As France Foreign Trade Advisors, being CEOs of French companies operating in Thailand, we wanted to see the economic ties between the two countries we love, France and Thailand, flourish. The passion for sports unites people, including business executives. Therefore, we felt that organizing an event to promote the Paris Olympics was the perfect opportunity to show our Thai friends the best France has to offer.”
H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, the French Ambassador to Thailand, delivered the opening remarks, followed by speeches from dignitaries and officials from both countries, Khun Ying Patama Leeswadtrakul from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and French Foreign Trade Advisor President, Mr. Arnaud Bialecki.
The evening had highlighted the Break Dance sport, which had been added this year to the Olympic Games by France. To showcase this new addition, a dance performance by this year’s athletes together with DJ T-Sia had been an awe-struck spectacle for the guests attending the party. The performance was followed by another great demonstration of BMX road bicycle skills by the 4-consecutive-time BMX champion, Alex Jumelin.
Attendees had the unique opportunity to meet and interact with celebrated athletes, including the French football world cup winner in 1998 and premier league sports legends Emmanuel Petit and a multi-gold medalist Paralympic fencing champion, Cyril Moré. Thai athletes, including sailing champions competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic games, Sophia Montgomery and Arthit Mikhail Romanyk, had also attended the event. These athletes shared their Olympic journeys and the values of dedication and excellence that the Games represent.

Guests had been treated to a gastronomic journey reflecting the rich culinary traditions of France
