Mr. Angus Hutcheson, Designer
“Ango,” a Thai lighting brand widely celebrated by both domestic and international customers, takes pride in each and every piece that has been imbued with the spirit of Thai craftsmanship by Thai craftsmen. Spearheaded by Angus Hutcheson, an English designer with over 40 years of experience and acuity in design and architecture, the brand joined forces with The Design & Object Associations (D&O) in illuminating the historic district feted for its exuberant plethora of stories of the past with two latest lighting collections, “Infinite Flow” and “Falong” — the much-loved brainchild conceived in collaboration with Dots Design Studio. Experience the “Future Paradise” conjured up by the reimagining of the past with lighting sculpture under the eponymous concept that will change people's perspectives forever at the Bamrongnukulkitch Printing Office in Sao Chingcha district, which is part of the Bangkok Design Week 2022 to be held from February 5-13, 2022.

Truly devoted to the design and concept of “Sculptural Lighting” in every creation, Mr. Angus Hutcheson seeks to offer clients an impression that they are in possession of a masterpiece of a work of art, all the while gratifying their every moment of the state-of-the-art perfect living. He strives to create one-of-a-kind lighting pieces of art, most notably the latest "Infinite Flow” series — a mesmerizing sculptural lighting collection handcrafted to illuminate the historic district, in the making of which he paid meticulous attention to every detail apparent in each step, resulting in the delicate yet durable handiwork; Made from a smooth amalgamation of a variety of materials — from natural, such as natural rattan, to metal for indoor / outdoor use — that blend seamlessly with one another, this lighting opus can be used to dress and bejewel the space both indoors and outdoors.

Also, on display for the first time is "Falong," an electrifying sculptural lighting collection that strikes the perfect balance between Industrial Design and Craftsmanship — the much-coveted culmination of the joining hands between Ango and Dots Design Studio in the design and development of an outdoor lighting collection under the concept “Natural Geometric.” Both lighting collections will be showcased to augment the charm of the Bamrongnukulkitch Printing Office in Sao Chingcha district, drawing on the interweaving and -twining of stories of the past, present, and future under the concept “Future Paradise.” The concept couples modern technology, which allows for the minimization of energy consumption during each and every design and manufacturing process, with traditional craftsmanship into “Technocraft” — a hybrid philosophy that marries the functionality of technology with the aesthetics of craftsmanship, giving birth to the most elaborate magnum opuses. They will be exhibited alongside with over 30 Thai designers in the D&O group at the Bangkok Design Week 2022 between February 5-13, 2022.
