ALive Powered by AIA, the one-stop health and wellness application, invites everyone to celebrate Mother's Month by showing love and care to their mothers with the "Food Tracker*" feature, users can plan healthy meals and check nutritional values as if a nutritionist were right there by their side.
For mothers who aged 60 and above, a slower metabolic rate decreases their energy needs. They should aim for a daily intake of 1,600 to 1,800 kilocalories to maintain sufficient energy levels. Meals should be soft, easy to chew and digest, and prepared with fresh ingredients. Those with medical conditions and excess weight should limit their intake of salty and sugary foods. A balanced diet, including all 5 food groups, is essential:

  1. Carbohydrates or Starches: Energy-providing foods such as rice, noodles, taro, and cassava are essential. Seniors should consume these foods in the appropriate portions.
  2. Protein: Protein is vital for tissue repair and muscle maintenance. Sources include meat, beans, and sesame. The recommended daily protein intake for the elderly is 1 gram per kilogram of body weight. They should opt for lean meats, particularly fish, and various types of beans, avoiding meats with skin or excessive fat.
  3. Fats: Fats from both plant and animal sources provide energy and help absorb certain vitamins. The elderly should limit their fat intake and use vegetable oils rich in linoleic acid, consuming around 2 to 2.5 tablespoons daily.
  4. Vegetables: Vegetables supply essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber that support healthy digestion.  However, raw vegetables high in fiber may be harder to digest and could cause bloating, so they should be avoided.
  5. Fruits: Fruits offer vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Seniors should choose soft, easy-to-chew fruits like papaya, ripe bananas, and oranges, consuming them at least 1-2 times a day in servings of 6-8 pieces or bites each time.

To promote the health of elderly mothers this Mother's Month, ALive invites everyone to show their love by paying close attention to their mothers' meals. Use the Food Tracker feature to calculate calories and nutrients in each meal, ensuring that their mothers eat well and stay healthy.

Let “Food Tracker” Ensures Mothers Eat Properly

The Food Tracker feature is designed for users who want to monitor the nutrients and calories in each meal. It’s user-friendly and requires just 3 simple steps: take a photo, upload it, and select the menu name and food quantity. The feature will automatically estimate the calorie and nutrient values, enabling mothers to track these details and ensure each meal is nutritious and balanced.

Additionally, the feature can record at each meal log and summarize your meals on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, allowing users to monitor their mothers' eating habits over time. It assists in setting better health goals by planning meals that meet the body's needs. By inputting personal information such as height, weight, and exercise frequency, the feature calculates the appropriate calorie intake and summarizes daily food consumption, helping mothers track their eating habits to achieve their health goals.

A key highlight of the Food Tracker feature is its use of AI technology to analyze food data, food images, and ingredients.  It includes detailed data on nearly all types of Thai food, offering more precise calorie and nutrient calculations compared to other calorie-tracking apps. This makes it particularly suitable for Thai consumers.
