As we all know, most growing and stable companies have a management team that is far-sighted and able to manage each part of the organization well. But there is one thing that some people may forget to think about, and that is "Corporate Culture"

This has always been part of any great organization. Having a strong and clear corporate culture is like having an arrow that guides everyone in the company to understand the true purpose of the organization. It allows employees to work together to create something that meets the goals set by the organization.

We had the opportunity to talk with Mr.Kosuke Sogo, CEO and co-founder from AnyMind Group, an end-to-end commerce enablement company that operates in 17 major cities in 13 countries about the perspective on how to build great corporate culture and choosing people to join with AnyMind's culture.

Mr.Kosuke Sogo told us that “Since we started the business, we have focused on building an international culture. Both founders had worked outside of Japan for some time, and we were able to fully grasp the unique nuances and cultural differences - not just in everyday life but also in the workplace, and that’s why we decided to foster an international culture from the start. Case in point, we currently have over 27 different nationalities working in our company. We think that we can build a strong and clear corporate culture, because in the beginning the organization was very small and it was very easy for everyone to interact and speak with the CEO and be aligned with the company directions and way of thinking. By being able to chat with the CEO on a daily basis, everyone had first-hand experience on the culture of the company. Everyone moved together easily in one direction, and we grew tremendously”.

What we can see from AnyMind is although AnyMind has a strong culture in terms of the way of working, they didn't neglect the cultural diversity of each market, they embrace and respect each other. Another thing they focus on is localization, so they try to adapt their culture to AnyMind’s culture to empower the people as well as the overall culture of the company.

When we talk about corporate culture, what follows is the selection of people that the organization thinks can coexist with those cultures or not. In this section, Sogo commented that “As our business is very broad, we recruit people with various areas of expertise. However, they also have to align with our company values, and these are evaluated during our recruitment process. I also believe that culture fit is the most important factor when choosing to hire people for a job. Having a poor culture fit will mean that a person can easily feel out of place and leave for another company. Our values provide a guide for candidates on what we’re looking for attitude-wise”.

AnyMind is one of the most successful and culturally focused organizations. Making it one of the top companies that the new generation would like to work at. AnyMind also sees that the new generation can drive the organization towards its goals as well, because the younger generation of employees has the drive and adaptability to be updated and keep up with the newest tech and solutions while the previous generation has the experience and know-how to make good decisions. At AnyMind we have combined these two to create a balance of both to grow our business.

Sogo concluded that “In AnyMind, your age doesn't matter. What matters is the results you bring to the company. Therefore, we respect everyone's opinion and ideas for innovation despite how long they stayed in the company or industry. Therefore, we try to create an environment where employees feel most comfortable and safe to speak up their thoughts without fear of punishment. That is how the culture can thrive in AnyMind and quality work can be produced”.

This way of thinking applies to all markets where AnyMind operates. So we can see that AnyMind can easily drive the organization to the international level. This is another example that shows that the stability of corporate culture can really support business growth.
