This deep-rooted festival is staged annually in Phuket Town, as the heritage-rich streets and temples burst into life every October with 10 days of rituals and parades. Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town, which is located in the heart of the old town, will give guests a front row seat to these spectacular celebrations.
Every morning from October 3rd – 10th, 2024 (06.00 hrs onwards), guests can take their place at a Vegetarian Worship Table, overlooking the colorful parades at the Surin Circle Clock Tower. Priced at THB 9,888 per table, these seats offer unobstructed views of the parade as it winds through the heart of Phuket Town. Guests will also be treated to fresh fruits, mixed candies, peanut bars and steamed rice cakes, plus candles, incense and flowers for spiritual rituals and firecrackers to liven up the morning! The Vegetarian Worship Table can also be booked on the final evening (October 11th, 20.00 hrs onwards), to mark the climactic Farewell Ritual.
Throughout this 10-day event, guests can savor an amazing array of vegetarian delights. The talented Chinese chefs at Yue Restaurant & Bar have crafted a special à la carte menu with more than 20 vegan dishes, including fresh salads, soups, appetizers, main courses and desserts. Healthy options include gingko with black & white fungus salad, Yue’s signature stir-fried tofu with Chinese chili paste, wok-tossed jute leaves with shimeji mushroom & capsicum, and lily bulbs with fresh milk. A choice of three Chinese set menus are also available, featuring original vegetarian dishes accompanied by jasmine rice.
With prices starting from THB 160 per dish for the à la carte menu and THB 399 per set menu, these delectable recipes can be enjoyed at all of the hotel’s restaurants and bars throughout the Vegetarian Festival, and as part of an extended in-room dining menu.
Finally, during the Farewell Ritual on October 11th, guests can savor a series of light bites in front of the hotel as they immerse themselves in the spirit of the grand finale. Three Thai-style vegetarian snacks will be available for THB 100 each.
