BEING so close to the equator, Thailand can never escape the heat. However, because we’re also living in a tropical paradise, we are blessed with so many gorgeous beaches, islands, and clear blue water to dive into. Here are 5 must-visit islands to recharge your battery.
Nang Yuan Island, Suratthani
Named one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world, this group of 3 islands connected by one beach is absolutely breathtaking with beautiful sunrise and sunset. There’s only one accommodation available on the island due to the limited space so either book early or you can get an accommodation on Koh Tao instead. There are long tail boats available to bring you to the islands for B300 per person. Also available are various one-day trip to visit various beautiful dive sites and beaches on the islands.

Surin Islands National Park, Phang Nga
The natural beauty of this underwater national park at Surin Islands is nothing less than amazing. What better way to escape the heat by taking a swim with the wild sea turtle? Be sure to schedule your time properly for this trip because the island is closed from May 15 to October 15 so the surroundings and wildlife can replenish themselves undisturbed. As for accommodation, we recommend visitors to find one on Khao Lak where the pier offer boats that will take visitors to and from the islands. Most tour companies also offer pickup and drop off services from the hotel to make it a very comfortable and convenient getaway.
Similan Islands, Phang Nga
Another must-visit gorgeous landmark in the Andaman sea is Similan Islands in Phang Nga. This is another heaven on earth with white sandy beaches and clear blue sea stretching as far as the eyes can see. The rich and beautiful reefs and underwater wildlife will definitely melt all the worry and stress away in no time. Khao Lak pier also have boats to Surin Islands so you can kill two birds with one stone and plan to visit both islands on the same trip.
