On February 27, 2020 HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, graciously presided over the opening ceremony of “The 54th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar” at Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon Shopping Center. Attending were executives of the Thai Red Cross Society - Secretary General Phan Wannamethee, Treasurer Khunying Jada Wattanasiritham, Director of Fund Raising Bureau Khan Prachuabmoh, Society Deputy Director of Fundraising Bureau Janprapa Vichitcholchai. Also presence were Chairperson of Diplomatic Participant Committee of The 54th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar and spouse of the Peruvian Ambassador Mrs. María Ximena Rios Hamann, Board of Director of Siam Paragon Katevalee Napasab and Managing Director of Royal Paragon Hall Talun Theng, together with executives of Siam Paragon’s and the event’s sponsors.
The Thai Red Cross Society, together with spouses of the diplomats to Thailand presented the annual charity shopping fair “The 54th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar,” under the concept “Shop the World at the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar.” This year saw the very first hybrid Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar, offering both on-ground and online experiences. This adaptive format is in accordance with the ongoing COVID-19 precaution also enables shoppers across the country to join the fair anywhere, anytime via www.dpcredcrossbazaar.com, thanks to ARIP Public Company Limited for the e-commerce platform development. Shoppers also had access to online shopping and enjoyed varieties of delivery options including Pick & Pack by Thailand Post, pick up, or order online and self pick-up at the fair. Other engaging online activities included raffle tickets, live international performance as well as online donation to support charitable projects.
On-ground activities at Royal Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon offered varieties of qualities products sourced from various countries across the globe. This year welcomed first-timer like Cambodia, and returnees like Nigeria and Panama with their local specialties like the famous Panama hat and handicrafts. All the participating countries also sourced their best and rare local products to offer at irresistible price. In addition, the Raffle tickets, priced at THB50, featured ranges of appealing prizes such as iPad Gen 8 32GB Wi-Fi, and Suzuki 125cc motorcycles. Prizes will be drawn on April 28, 2021 at the Fund Raising Bureau of Thai Red Cross Society and results will be announced on www.redcrossfundraising.org and www.facebook.com/Redcrossfundraising.
