Jim Thompson announces an exclusive collaboration with Kitt.Ta.Khon with a new colorful outdoor furniture range.
Introducing the exclusive collaboration between Jim Thompson and Kitt.Ta.Khon, two renowned names in design with a deep passion for preserving traditional craftsmanship and supporting artisanal communities. In this exciting partnership, the two brands have created a line of outdoor furniture that combines their shared commitment to heritage and innovation, blending past inspirations with a bold, contemporary twist. The decorative accent chair range marks the first time that Jim Thompson has collaborated with a furniture brand.
The collaboration has resulted in a range of colorful, contemporary furniture, combining Jim Thompson’s Archipelago Collection performance fabrics and Kitt.Ta.Khon’s innovative interpretation of Thai craft techniques with modern methods. The Archipelago collection translates patterns and colors gathered from islands around the globe into durable, high-lightfastness textured weaves that are soft to the touch. This outstanding quality fabric offers exceptional performance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Sasaya N Vesanen, Chief Commercial Officer of Home Furnishings, Jim Thompson, said, “Kitt.Ta.Khon has designed furniture that directly responds to our fabrics. At Jim Thompson, our mission is to preserve textile traditions and embrace innovation of outdoor products. The collaboration with Kitt.Ta.Khon showcases this journey and development. Together, we have created a thoughtful collection that embodies the essence of both brands, inviting the audience to appreciate the intersection of innovative, high-performance materials and timeless design.”
“When the opportunity to collaborate with Jim Thompson arose, we were delighted to expand our horizons and design methods to create a range of outdoor furniture that fits both of our brand philosophies. Working with the leading lifestyle brand known for its heritage in silk and weaving, our combined strengths and vision captures the essence of traditional knowledge and skills,” stated Teerapoj Teeropas, Founder of Kitt.Ta.Khon.
The range of furniture uses powder-coated aluminum structures finished with a recycled plastic (PE) pattern, adorned with cushion covers with Jim Thompson outdoor fabric. The Pandan chair incorporates bold colors and line work to infuse a contemporary essence with the beauty of simple weave patterns. Mudjai chair uses the geometric Nicobar Ikat fabric, adding a new dimension to the light and shadow pattern when set outdoors. Takpha chair is paired with a range of striped fabrics inspired by the rich Thai tradition of regional sarongs and loincloths.
The exclusive range of furniture produced by Kitt.Ta.Khon is designed to engage with local communities and artisan craft makers from across the country, preserving knowledge and skill transfer.
Together, Jim Thompson and Kitt.Ta.Khon present an innovative and fun furniture range made with production methods that combine traditional basketry techniques with striking modern design. This unique collection creates standout centerpieces for all types of spaces.
