It has been an extremely challenging year for the creative industries, especially the music business which continues to be affected from the outbreak of COVID-19. Although the situation appears to be under control, people in the music industry still strive to create a better tomorrow. JOOX, the No. 1 music community application in Thailand, has partnered up with 'Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization)' or CEA to support music professionals and music creators through the project entitled: ‘CEA Vaccine to Create Immunity for the Thai Economy’ which directly employs musical talents. The initiative highlights two remarkable activities, including 1.) the ‘Sound of the City', and 2.) the ‘CEA Live House’. Furthermore, JOOX is gearing up for the next collaboration to co-organize ‘Bangkok Design Week 2021’ activity. These new projects aim to serve as another cog to support artists to have more income, to boost morale among music and creative professionals in order to drive the industries forward, as well as to create happiness and a colorful sensation for the Thai public through special songs from the collaboration.
Mr. Apisit Laistrooglai, Executive Director of Creative Economy Agency (CEA), revealed “Throughout the COVID-19 crisis until recently, CEA has been involved in helping those affected in 15 creative industry fields through the project entitled: ‘CEA Vaccine to Create Immunity for the Thai Economy’. We have been actively looking for new partners from various industries to join forces in supporting the creative industries to overcome such crisis. JOOX is one of our important partners who always provides assistance to the music industry. This time around, JOOX has joined us to support the ‘Sound of the City’, an activity of which musicians, artists, composers and the general public are invited by CEA to come together and create their own style of music that reflects the uniqueness of a city or a district in Thailand. The selected 100 songs will be broadcast on JOOX application for all Thai listeners to enjoy. We have also co-organized the ‘CEA Live House’ project by opening the space of Bangkok Creative & Design Center (TCDC) for musicians and performing artists to be used as a studio for dance and performance practices free of charge. Furthermore, we have selected outstanding songs for recording of live performances which will be broadcast on JOOX Sound Room as well.”
“CEA also extends the collaboration by bringing 25 songs from the ‘Sound of The City’ project to color up the 'Bangkok Design Week 2021’. The event will be a perfect combination of music and a creative exhibition space, opened for everyone to enjoy inventive art works, to find new opportunities, and new possibilities for the revival of people’s lives and for the cities. Bangkok Design Week 2021 will be held on January 31 - February 7, 2021 under the concept of ‘Resurgence of Possibilities’. The event will feature creative economic districts across Bangkok, including Charoenkrung-Songwad, Sam Yan, Ari-Pradipat, and Thonglor-Ekkamai, to name a few.”

We will make use of our strong platform which is oriented to music lifestyle and deeply rooted to the norm of Thailand’s content consumption. Our platform will serve as the medium for presenting the selected 100 songs and special content from this project in all dimensions. In addition, we will create a special playlist on JOOX to allow users to enjoy new music with a touch of culture from various districts in Thailand. Interested users can get updates on this project and listen to the special songs available soon on JOOX”
“For the ‘CEA Live House’, we are thrilled to create a sensation for the Thai music industry by using the space at TCDC as the live-concert venue for 15 up-and-coming indie artists, such as Hers, Yellow Fang and Notep. The recorded performance of artists from the ‘Sound of the City’ activity will also be broadcast for the public to enjoy. Users can view VDO from both activities through the Amplified Session Program today on JOOX. As for the ‘Bangkok Design Week 2021’, JOOX will support the event by bringing in 25 special songs for people to be immersed in their connection between themselves and the city. These songs will reflect the uniqueness of various zones within the event through QR codes for visitors to scan and listen to the music. JOOX will also create the playlist with 25 songs of the city on the app, as well as to organize surprise concerts jam-packed with favorite artists throughout the four-day event.”
“We hope that this collaboration will provide music professionals with a platform to unleash their creativity and will encourage them to create new and innovative works to drive the Thai music industry forward. It is also in our hope that every song from these projects will create happiness and paint joyous colors for all JOOX users and the Thai public alike,” Mr. Krittee concluded.
