Bangkok, January 2026: As part of Bangkok Design Week 2026, Le Méridien Bangkok invites street artists and creative collectives to take part in the city’s first-ever Rooftop Street Art Fight, a bold new art competition set against the city skyline.
Hosted on the hotel’s rooftop, the project transforms an architectural space into an open-air canvas, where colour, creativity and urban dialogue converge. Aligned with Bangkok Design Week’s 2026 theme, “DESIGN SOS,” the initiative positions street art as a powerful response to today’s sustainability, social and environmental challenges, using creativity as both expression and action.
Guided by the concept “Colour and Sustainability,” participating artists are encouraged to interpret colour as a symbol of life, balance and hope. From the vivid hues of nature that signal healthy ecosystems to the fading tones that warn of environmental decline, colour becomes a visual language for sustainability and a reminder that preserving vibrancy is inseparable from preserving life itself.
The competition is open to street artists and creative teams who wish to showcase their vision in a highly visible, design-led setting. A total of 21 shortlisted teams (up to four artists per team) will be selected to create original works on-site during Bangkok Design Week, culminating in a public showcase and judging event.
