In addition, Phillips will present IWC: Back to the 80s, a thematic online auction in September featuring IWC–Porsche Design timepieces from a single eclectic Asian collector. Select highlights from this unique sale will be exhibited in Bangkok, offering Thai collectors an exceptional opportunity to explore a diverse and curated selection of horological artistry.

Rika Dila, Senior Consultant, Phillips Watches, said: “Thailand’s expanding middle and upper-middle class, coupled with a rising number of high-net-worth individuals, continues to drive strong demand for luxury goods and collectibles. Bangkok has served as a strategic hub for Phillips’ previews and exhibitions in recent years, and this September, besides the Bangkok preview, we are proud to host an exclusive VIP Watches event in Khon Kaen—marking our first in Northern Thailand. This milestone underscores Thai market’s growing significance in Asia’s luxury market. We look forward to presenting exceptional timepieces and jewels to collectors and enthusiasts here, and to fostering even greater engagement and acquisition activity in the months ahead.”
The Hong Kong Jewels Auction: 30 September

Phillips’ jewellery category has garnered increasing recognition in recent years, with industry reports spotlighting its performance and growth globally. Building on the momentum of last season’s Hong Kong auction—which achieved a 55% year-on-year increase in total sales—Phillips is thrilled to continue this upward trajectory with its upcoming September sale. Held in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary in Asia, this auction will showcase a dazzling array of treasures that reflect both curatorial excellence and the evolving tastes of collectors across generations. In tandem with the live auction, Phillips will host Hong Kong Jewels: Online Auction, open for bidding from 22 September to 3 October.

Precious Coloured Gemstones

The auction will spotlight a selection of jewellery with the finest coloured gemstones, led by a Colombian no oil emerald and diamond bracelet, featuring emeralds totalling 16.09 carats. Each gemstone is artfully paired with diamonds to create a striking contrast that accentuates the vivid colour and exceptional clarity of these rare treasures. Unheated Burmese rubies take centre stage in this season’s offering, including a pair of 2.10 and 2.05-carat pigeon blood ruby and diamond earrings. Sapphires originating from Burma (now Myanmar), long regarded as one of the most coveted in the world, will also be prominently featured. Highlights include a 20.09-carat unheated Burmese sapphire and diamond ring by Cartier.

Among the highlights is an alluring panther brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels; and a bold, sculptural gold and diamond bracelet from Tiffany & Co. Phillips is delighted to present three exquisite creations from Cindy Chao’s acclaimed ‘Ribbon Collection’ this season: a bangle, a ring, and a pair of ear pendants. Exquisite Jadeite Jewellery

Among all the colours found in natural jadeites, the most prized is green, followed by lavender colour, which symbolises elegance. A standout highlight from the sale is a strand of lavender jadeite bead, ruby and diamond necklace with matching ear pendants. Lavender jadeite is gaining popularity among young collectors due to its mesmerising pastel hue, which aligns with contemporary aesthetics and fashion trends, as well as its rarity and symbolic associations with peace and emotional balance. Its simple silhouette offers a fresh, contemporary twist on a culturally significant gemstone, allowing younger generations to reconnect with heritage while expressing individuality.

Commissioned by the German Bundeswehr in the late 1970s, the IWC Ocean Bund was developed as a highly durable, anti-magnetic dive watch tailored for elite military units like Combat Swimmers and Mine Divers. Designed in collaboration with Alexander Porsche—renowned for designing the iconic Porsche 911— the watches featured titanium construction, 300-meter water resistance, and distinct military markings, including NATO Stock Numbers. The present example on display in Bangkok, shows Super-LumiNova luminescence and a third-generation titanium bracelet, enhancing both functionality and collector appeal. With limited production and enduring legacy, the Ocean Bund remains a landmark in military watchmaking and a prized piece of horological history.
