Presiding over the opening ceremony, Juti Krairiksh, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, said, “On behalf of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, we are delighted to join the opening ceremony of  Thonburi Burana Hospital. I am impressed that the hospital recognizes the importance of caring for elderly patients as well as their family members, offering a pleasant experience in a happy environment surrounded by nature and green areas. It is an ideal living condition for patients and elders in general. On behalf of the government, I see the importance of being prepared and equipped for entering an aged society. This marks a significant first step from the private sector in line with the changes in the world and in our country.”

Seasoned actor and director Pongpat Wachirabunjong, shared his personal experience after he suffered a stroke, “I passed out while shooting a TV drama and found out I had a stroke because of high blood pressure and chronic stress. Usually, on the set, I might appear happy, but there’s a lot of stress. My behavior led to my illness, but now that it has already happened, I have to live with it. I want everyone to take care of their health because it is very important. Thonburi Burana Hospital is an interesting option because it offers a wide array of services for all needs.”

Many countries around the world have become an aging society, and in the next 10 years, it is expected that Thailand will become a super-aged society, with more than 20% of the population being more than 65 years old. Top diseases among elders that lead to deaths and accidents are Alzheimer’s disease and stroke, which affect their daily life and their ability to lead a normal life. They might experience weakness in their arms and legs which slow down their movement. The diseases may also lead to speaking difficulties, swallowing problems, facial paralysis, bed sores, digestive problems, and psychological issues. These problems must be handled by experts using physical therapy, medical sport science, acupuncture, nutrition program, rehabilitation program using activities and modern technology in suitable environment, mixing nature with the hospital’s facility to result in positive results in order to transform the patients’ healthcare.

Thonburi Healthcare Group Plc or THG recognizes the importance of caring for elders, and therefore established Thonburi Burana Hospital, a long-term care facility for elders that offers a good balance in every aspect for both the patients and their family. The hospital focuses on rehabilitation and healthcare for Alzheimer’s disease and stroke patients, offering the same standard as other establishments by THG. The patients can enjoy a good life and lead a normal life as much as possible.

The vision of Thonburi Burana Hospital is to be a leader of Trusted Long-Term Care Hospital for elders using modern innovation and integrated approach. The hospital is staffed with experienced and dedicated doctors and medical personnels who are service-minded and patient-centric, with an aim to offer quality services and long-term happiness to elders. It employs the Trusted Long-Term Care Hospital concept to offer individualized treatments and balance in every aspect. The hospital offers 24/7 IPD, OPD and ER services to residents of Jin Wellbeing County, and also includes physical therapy, therapeutic activities, and emotional betterment under the concepts of “Wellness on Healthiness” for preventing illnesses and “Wellness on Illness” for living well with illnesses. The ultimate goal is for elders to achieve a balanced life, have good quality of life, and enjoy life as much as possible.
