where the intriguing legacy of Jim Thompson meets masterful mixology, has launched a new bar experience entitled, Based on a True Story. The unique cocktail promotion offers a package of three signature cocktails selected by the bar’s mixologist, skilfully derived from the customer’s own taste preferences. On presentation, the mixologist reveals the unfolding narrative behind each cocktail, piecing together the inspiring and mysterious story behind the brand’s enigmatic founder.
The O.S.S. Bar, located at the Jim Thompson Heritage Quarter, an essential stop on the city’s vibrant cocktail circuit, provides contemporary elegance within a historical setting for an immersive, story-led cocktail experience. Each of the promotion’s three cocktail selections comes from the bar’s captivating ‘field manual’ menu, with each chapter exploring events and themes across Jim Thompson’s life story. From humble beginnings, to connections in the U.S. intelligence and emergence as Thailand’s silk king. ‘Based on a True Story’ promotion offers a set package cost for customers exploring the cocktail-based narrative through Chapters 1-3 for 1,100 THB++.
Upon arrival, each esteemed guest will be presented with an envelope containing a secret letter detailing their mission. The bar’s mixologist will select drinks from Chapters 1 through 3 cocktail menus drawn from each participant’s personal tastes. The mixologist then presents the story behind the cocktail, allowing the customer to explore Jim Thompson’s life through each drink sensation.
