As the pandemic is easing, borders are opening and businesses start to take their stride after a stalling recovery period, Campari is gearing up for various exciting activations from 2023 onwards. But first thing first, the brand has recently welcomed the new brand ambassador.
Thanamon Suthon, also known in the Bangkok bar scene as Still, has been crowned Brand Ambassador, Campari Thailand. Like most bartenders, the talented and personable mixologist has been familiar with Campari since early on in his bartending career. “My first exposure to Campari was right at the beginning of my bartending career eight years ago at Campari Academy,” Still says. “It was the bottle that I had seen everywhere, whether in posh bars or simple establishments, and, boy, what an impressive taste it left in my mouth when I first tried it. From a stranger that day, Campari has become my personal favorite and a trusted friend in my cocktail making.

“What I love about Campari is that it is a classic brand that is both luxury and approachable. Through a series of training and masterclasses I also learned more about the history of the brand, I found it even more captivating. I’m very honored to be trusted with this role as ambassador for the brand and I can’t wait to share my passion and celebrate the legacy of Campari with as many people as possible in Thailand.”
It has been a while since Campari had a local brand ambassador. Symphony Loo, Campari Group Brand Ambassador – SEA, finds that one of the opportunities that comes from having a local brand ambassador is that Campari could raise brand awareness among an even larger audience in Thailand.
“We’re pretty out there already, and Negroni is the world’s number one best-selling cocktail, but we can do more,” Symphony says. “Half a decade ago, Negroni was still something niche in Thailand, and not a lot of drinkers knew what Campari was, especially the younger crowd. Our local brand ambassador back then did an excellent job at laying the foundation for Campari among mixologists, while the previous brand ambassador, who is Italian, further established Campari as part of authentic Italian food and drink culture and a global icon among international venues in Thailand.
“Now that bars, restaurants and a lot of venues are starting to open, and things are gradually back to how it used to be, it’s a good time for us to penetrate new cocktail bars and venues that may have changed or refreshed their operations over the past two years during the pandemic. Still has a strong background in cocktail bars and hotel venues, so I’m sure he’ll be able to maximize this asset for the brand.”
Now with the new brand ambassador, Campari is ready to roll out even more fun and exciting activations in 2023. “Asia has always been the highlight destination when it comes to mixology and cocktail culture,” says Symphony. “Next year you can expect more international talents coming to Asia, Thailand included, and not just for guest shifts but also for trainings and masterclasses. Also, we’re setting up Campari Academy Asia, which will be launched very soon. And, of course, everyone’s favorite, Negroni Week will still be included in our activation plan. So, keep an eye out for activities from various products across Campari Group!”
