Saawaan Chef de Cuisine Sujira ‘Aom’ Pongmorn and Chef Pâtissier Arisara “Paper” Chongphanitkul will welcome Chef Chatchai Klanklong from l’Orchidée in Altkirch in France’s Alsace region for a six-hands dinner on 18-19 August 2019.

The only Thai restaurant to be awarded a star in the Michelin Guide France 2019, l’Orchidée serves modern Thai cuisine inspired by chef Chatchai’s upbringing in Petchabun and his memories of watching his mother prepare Thai food from scratch.

The chef relocated to France with his brother and mother in childhood and subsequently worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Switzerland. At l’Orchidée he marries his training in fine dining establishments with the seasonality of French produce and the distinct flavor profiles of Thai cuisine.

For the collaboration, the three chefs will present a 9-course tasting menu using local Thai ingredients, along with a wine or tea pairing. Diners will get to experience signature Saawaan and l’Orchidée dishes as well as collaborative plates.
