Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok presents its first-ever vegan and gluten-free afternoon tea set
It is said that you are what you eat—and that health is wealth. With this in mind, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s newly appointed Executive Pastry Chef Pablo Gicquel has introduced a special new vegan and gluten-free afternoon tea set, priced at THB 1,500++ (THB 1,767 net) per person, available daily at The Authors’ Lounge from 12.00 pm to 6.00 pm, from 28 September 2019.

Highlights include Vegan protein and vegan cheddar cheese puff, Vegan Bratwurst sausage with Dijon mustard double decker, Charcoal tart with pumpkin and black truffle, “Calisson” almond cake with mandarin marmalade, a not-to-be-missed scone with golden sultana and a Granny Smith apple with homemade jam and tofu spread. All are served with a choice of freshly brewed coffee or fine teas.

Executive Pastry Chef Pablo, who recently joined Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok from a world-renowned hotel in Paris, embraces the growing global consumer trend toward healthier eating with his handcrafted selection of 13 vegan and gluten-free savoury and sweet treats, offering a delightful new way for diners to enjoy their afternoon tea at Bangkok’s most iconic venue. A myriad of health benefits—such as lowering heart disease risk and blood sugar levels—and environmental benefits will be celebrated with every bite.
The hotel’s first-ever vegan and gluten-free afternoon tea set arrives just in time for Thailand’s popular nationwide Vegetarian Festival, which is celebrated this year from 28 September to 7 October.

Experience a healthy new option for your afternoon tea by visiting The Authors’ Lounge and allowing Executive Pastry Chef Pablo’s creations to tantalise your taste buds amidst the delightful surroundings featuring 143 years of renowned heritage.
