The fragrant jasmine rice dish with a royal pedigree is served cold with a variety of nutritious condiments, paying as much attention to the presentation as you do to the flavours.
Literally meaning "rice soaked in cool water" khao chae gained popularity around the time of King Rama II, quickly becoming a hot season staple in Thailand. This year, from 15 March to 15 May, celebrate the arrival of the Songkran season at Spice Market at Anantara Siam Bangkok where this spring favourite will be served in full compliance with tradition.
