InterContinental Koh Samui Resort is delighted to announce the appointment of Amporn Choeng-Ngam as the resort’s new Executive Chef, effective September 7th 2020. Chef Amporn brings with him over 27 years of international experience and culinary excellence and was most recently, executive chef at the Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin. Prior to this engagement, he worked with a mix of internationally renowned hotel brands such as Conrad and Anantara in destinations such as Ukraine, Bali and Saudi Arabia while also burnishing his reputation at the likes of the acclaimed wellness haven Chiva Som in Hua Hin, Thailand. Chef Amporn worked for Princess Hassah Bint Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia as a private chef. |
Chef Amporn has a diverse range of culinary strengths and will look to further enhance the resort’s reputation with a particular emphasis on a mix of classic and modern French cuisine using the choicest and freshest ingredients. He has won several industry awards, including both Gold and Silver medals in cooking competitions in Thailand and Bali as well as being the winner of the Challenger Chef contest featured on the renowned “Iron Chef” show on 20 October 2018.
Chef Amporn will lead the culinary team at InterContinental Koh Samui Resort and will oversee the hotel’s three restaurants & bars – Flames, Amber and Air Bar.
