K by Vicky Cheng Partners with Penfolds for Exclusive Seven-Course Pairing Dinner

​Bangkok, Thailand: August 4, 2025 – K by Vicky Cheng, the stylish and contemporary Chinese dining destination perched on the 56th floor of The Empire in the heart of Bangkok, invites connoisseurs of fine food and wine to come together for a refined evening of gastronomy this August, in partnership with Penfolds, the prestigious Australian winemaker.
 
Penfolds is a renowned Australian winery with a proud history dating back to 1844. By blending science, art and innovation, this famous company has grown to become one of the world's most celebrated and respected winemakers. From their elegant Chardonnays to the rich red Cabernet Sauvignons, Penfolds' wines have an ability to complement the savory and umami notes often found in Chinese cuisine, similar to the tea-drinking culture in China.
 
For one night only, on Saturday August 23, 2025, discerning diners can experience the exclusive Penfolds Pairing Dinner at K by Vicky Cheng – a seven-course set menu that showcases Chef Vicky Cheng’s authentic yet contemporary style of Cantonese and Chiu Chow cuisine, paired with a selection of Penfolds' most distinguished vintages and set against the backdrop of breath-taking skyline views.

The Penfolds Wine Dinner commences with exquisite cold appetizer of Smoked & Marinated Egg with Oscietra Caviar and Chiu Chow Style Raw Ama Ebi, a delicate yet indulgent dish that will be complemented with a flute of Penfolds Champagne Cuvée Brut, a vibrant sparkling wine. This will be followed by a trio of enticing hot appetizers: Glutinous Rice Black Pepper Beef Dumpling Ham Sui Gok, Crispy Fried Taro Smoked Duck Dumpling, and Barbecue Iberico Pork “Char Siu,” all accompanied with Penfolds’ limited-edition FWT 585 Cabernet Merlot Petit Verdot, a rare red wine with deep purple hues and the essence of summer berries.
 
A sublime Hot & Sour Soup with Crab Meat and Fish Maw will then be perfectly paired with a glass of Koonunga Hill Autumn Riesling, a floral and citrusy white wine with the aroma of spring flowers and hints of lime zest, followed by two sensational seafood plates: Stir-fried River Prawns with Crispy Garlic and Chinese Olive Leaf and Spicy Eggplant and Fish Maw Clay Pot with Salted Fish. These bold yet delicate flavors will be enhanced with Penfolds’ Reserve Bin A Chardonnay, a light straw-colored white wine with notes of tropical fruit.
 
Diners will then be ready for the main event: a rich, succulent and deeply flavorful Chu Hou Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib with Daikon, further enriched with a glass of Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, a multi-layered ruby red wine with hints of dark cherry, dark chocolate, and oak. The main courses will be accompanied with K by Vicky Cheng’s signature Hokkaido Scallop Egg White Fried Rice. This epicurean odyssey then concludes with a delectable dessert of Double Boiled Bird's Nest with Chilled Coconut Milk.
