Monsoon Valley Vineyard believes in the harmony between nature and wildlife and has always worked to revive and restore the natural surroundings around their expansive vineyard.
The vineyard rehabilitated gaur and banteng bulls at Kuiburi National Park a few years ago. A small bull community has grown into several hundreds today. The team at Monsoon Valley Vineyard also collaborated with a local hornbill carer by supplying old wine barrels as a nest for the hornbills. There are currently four habitat areas located within the vineyard and its surrounding hills. Visitors to the vineyard can actually walk to these locations to have a chance to view the exotic hornbills.
The vineyard has an elephant conservation program with 2 elephants currently residing on-site in Ban Khok Chang Elephant Sanctuary. All programs meet the latest conservation specifications and the elephants are given a natural habitat, free from any chains and with plenty of grounds to run and roam around freely.
For a small fee of 200 THB, vineyard friends and visitors can meet and greet the elephants. The full amount and proceeds are used to expand this sanctuary and to welcome more elephants from hard labor and mainstream tourist traps.
Monsoon Valley Vineyard recently celebrated their 2021 harvest in April and look forward to rolling out the first shiraz wine from Thailand. Ban Khok Chang Elephant Sanctuary is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm.
