Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok’s Chocolate Boutique presents an irresistible selection of new patisseries to delight and satisfy one’s sweet tooth. The selection is thefruitful work of Executive Pastry Chef Christoph Widmer, who has been at the helm since the end of 2018.
 
Swiss-born Chef Christoph is exceptionally skilled in creating magic or, in this context, “patisserie”. His most notable work is the Salted Caramel, Vanilla, Pineapple Cheesecake (THB 200 net) - the unbelievable combination of all three will make your palate whistle with joy. 
            
He also adds some timeless, yet undeniably delicious choices, such as New York Cheesecake (THB 900 net), English Fruit Cake (THB 500 net) and Butter Marble Cake (THB 500 net). For those who love Italian dolce, a must-try is Chef Christoph’s take on Tiramisu Éclair (THB 200 net), the fusion of the two most popular desserts. The creamy smooth Tiramisu filling is a definition of perfection.
A long-term resident of Thailand, Chef Christoph also explores the possibility of using locally-sourced premium produce. One item he experiments with is 70% Chiang Mai Dark Chocolate Crunch Dome (THB 200 net).

Rich dark chocolate from Chiang Mai elevates this delight to another level.
 
“As a chef who falls in love with the fragrance of freshly baked pastries, with the flavour of sweet-and-sour tasty desserts, with the wonder of interesting ingredients to play with, I always feel at home when I am in my kitchen, and
this new patisserie selection is a heart-made collection, something I would cook at home for my family and special friends and which I believe that they would very much enjoy,” said Chef Christoph.
The Chocolate Boutique also offers many other choices, including Almond Darquoise, Diplmat, Raspberry (THB 200 net), Hazelnut Praline Mille Feuille (THB200), Baked Royal Apicot Tart (THB 900 net), Chocolate Passionfruit Craze (THB 1,200 net),
Banana Cake with Walnut  (THB 500 net) and Green Tea Castella Cake (THB 500 net).
 
Chef Christoph Widmer’s creations are now available at The Chocolate Boutique, along with tempting choices of caffeine and non-caffeine drinks, to give guests a boost on any given day. The Chocolate Boutique is designed to satisfy all types of guests from
sun up to lights out.  Attentive service begins early, at 7:45 a.m., and runs through late, until 11 p.m., seven days a week.
