Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Showcases Friendship and Fine Italian Cuisine with “Amici Night” at Rossini’s

Hosted on 17th February 2022, this enticing epicurean evening features a sensational six-course set menu crafted by two Italian culinary experts, Chef Gaetano Palumbo and Chef Marco Cammarata
Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, the iconic Luxury Collection Hotel in the heart of Bangkok, is inviting guests and local residents to discover the twin pleasures of friendship and fine dining this February, with a sublime six-course set dinner co-created by two culinary masters at Rossini’s, the celebrated Italian restaurant.
 
Hosted on 17th February 2022 (17.30-22.30 hrs), “Amici Night” (or “Friends’ Night”) has been curated by two good friends: Chef Gaetano Palumbo, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit’s renowned Executive Chef who grew up in Sicily and has 20 years of experience in top restaurants and five-star hotels, and Chef Marco Cammarata, the award-winning Executive Chef at Le Méridien Bangkok, who also hails from Italy and has 30 years of experience at luxury hotels and resorts around the world.
 
These two talented chefs have come together to devise a mouth-watering menu that showcases the finest local, seasonal and imported Italian ingredients, cooked to perfection and presented in a stunning setting at Rossini’s, which has been designed to resemble a beautiful Tuscan villa.
 
This epicurean odyssey commences with a pair of enticing amuse bouches by Chef Gaetano: Insalata di Barababietola con Fichi, a salad of heirloom baby beetroots with fig, goat’s curd cylinder and truffle honey, and Salmone Marinato e Affumicato, rosemary smoked salmon with parmesan cream, sweet pickled baby onions and onion powder – elegant antipasti to whet the appetite for the delights to come.
 
Diners are then treated to two exquisite appetizers by Chef Marco: Crema di Pinoli e Ghiaccio al Limone, an authentic Italian roasted pine nut soup, served chilled with lemon crab, smoked stracciatella and semolina chips, and Fricasse di ossobuco di vitello su risotto giallo allo zafferano, Milanese style ossobuco, veal shank on saffron risotto.
Guests are then offered the choice of two remarkable main courses: Chef Marco’s Merluzzo d’Antartico in crosta di erbe su lattughe, funghi di bosco e tartufo nero, Pave of Chilean seabass in a herbs crust with lettuce, mushroom and truffle sauce, or Chef Gaetano’s Lombo d’Agnello, lamb loin with cannellini beans and pancetta. Whichever option diners choose, land or sea, each dish is sure to transport the taste buds to the rolling fields and fishing villages of Italy.
 
This exceptional menu ends with Chef Marco’s famous Panna Cotta alla Vaniglia Tahiti, a cool, fresh and creamy panna cotta infused with Tahitian vanilla, white chocolate, a golden macaroon, longan and candied celery, followed by premium Italian coffee – a wonderful way to end an unforgettable evening.
 
Born and raised in a fishing community at the heart of Sicilian cuisine, Chef Gaetano is a certified Master Italian Chef from the acclaimed Accademia Barilla and has worked alongside Michelin-starred chefs around the world. As Executive Chef at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, he oversees the hotel’s eight restaurants and bars, including Rossini’s, which has been awarded the Michelin Plate.
 
Since leaving his Italian homeland, Chef Marco has held senior roles at luxury hotels and resorts all around the world, including Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Golf Resort & Spa and Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel, Istanbul. He has also won several prestigious awards, been a guest chef at five-star properties in China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, and even cooked for the Thai royal family.
 
“Amici Night” marks the latest edition of a monthly series of exclusive events at Rossini’s. The six-course menu is priced at THB 3,400++ per person, with an optional wine pairing for THB 1,300++ per person.
