The Okura Prestige Bangkok is celebrating the 2021 festive season with a mesmerising culinary offers and highlights.
La Pâtisserie unveils its 2021 Festive Hampers featuring signature Christmas stolen cake, home-made fruitcake and more.
This year, The Okura Prestige Bangkok’s festive hampers come in a fabulously crafted wooden box, beautifully wrapped in delicate Japanese fabrics featuring an ‘origami crane’ pattern.
The Japanese word ‘origami,’ is a combination of the words ‘ori,’ meaning to fold, and ‘kami,’ meaning paper. Japanese origami began in the 6th century when the cost of paper was high; hence origami was used for religious and ceremonial purposes. In Japan, the crane is considered a spiritual bird and is believed to live for a thousand years. It represents good fortune and longevity and is a symbol of happiness.
This year, the ‘Tezukuri’ Festive Hamper which means hand-crafted, comes in two-collections for guests to choose from.
The ‘Tezukuri’ Hamper Collection I offer a selection of delightful home-made items and personalised treats. Highlight of home-made jam include apple and yuzu, kimuji and melon, and lychee and sakura, whilst the delicate artisan snacks include matcha chocolate coated with macadamia, chocolate rice crispy, and Japanese savoury mixed nuts. In addition, the Tezukuri’ Festive Hamper also includes a ‘Celebration Box’ do-it-yourself beverage, through which guests can enjoy being a mixologist and craft their own drink. The hamper is completed with a one-of-a-kind ‘The Okura Prestige Dining Journey Calendar’ by talented local artist; Atelier Pakawan.
Whilst the Tezukuri’ Festive Hamper Collection II similarly comes with delightful home-made jams, a selections of artisan snacks and a crafted ‘The Okura Prestige Dining Journey Calendar’, this collection also includes a spectacular ‘The Okura Dining Set,’ offering two sharing-plate and two chopsticks rest-set.
