New promotions offer gourmet treats, happy memories—and the chance for a luxurious Peninsula stay
In celebration of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, The Peninsula Bangkok is delighted to offer its highly sought-after collection of Organic Egg Custard Mooncakes for hotel guests and local
residents to share with their families. As well as sparking joy and happy memories, these delicious traditional treats also allow guests who buy them to partake in a special promotion – The Golden Ticket – that gives them the chance to win a stay at the lavish property set along the Chao Phraya River.
Exquisitely Prepared, Sustainably Sourced
Hand-crafted in the kitchen of The Peninsula Bangkok’s acclaimed Mei Jiang restaurant, each mooncake is made using organically grown and sustainably harvested ingredients – including rich, creamy organic milk and butter; organic eggs from free-range hens; and organic flour. The resulting custard-filled mooncakes, imprinted with traditional designs, are beautifully packaged in elegant, eight-piece octagonal red gift boxes made with fully compostable, environmentally - friendly materials and decorated with a lotus-flower motif. The eight-piece sets nod to the Chinese word for “eight,” which sounds similar to the words for “prosperity” and “good fortune” – popular good wishes exchanged between family members, friends, and colleagues during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Peninsula Bangkok’s handmade mooncakes have long been a favourite gift for guests and local residents to share during the festival. This year’s Organic Egg Custard Mooncakes are available for pre-order immediately, and for purchase between 1 August and 21 September 2021.
The Golden Ticket: A Chance for a Luxurious Stay
Exclusively for 2021, The Peninsula Bangkok is offering the opportunity to win a complimentary stay at the hotel with each purchase of an eight-piece Organic Egg Custard Mooncake set. Ten lucky buyers will receive special Golden Tickets, each redeemable for a two-night stay in one of the hotel’s opulent themed suites. During their stay, the winners (and their families) will also enjoy complimentary meals including sumptuous breakfast, dim-sum lunch, dinner at either The River Café & Terrace or Thiptara restaurant, and a signature Peninsula Afternoon Tea. Winners can also partake in daily health and wellness activities.
Artist-Designed, Limited Edition Mooncakes
For guests seeking a truly extraordinary gift to share with loved ones during the Mid-Autumn celebration, a limited-edition selection of just 300 sets has been designed by the award-winning Thai artist and art historian Nirot Jarungjitvittawat. Each of these Organic Egg Custard Mooncake sets is packaged in a uniquely refined box adorned with Mr. Jarungjitvittawat’s traditionally inspired artwork.
As Head of the National Art Department and a lecturer in the Department of Thai Painting at PohChang Academy of Arts, Mr. Jarungjitvittawat has been lauded for his deep expertise in traditional Thai painting techniques. His work will be on display for visitors at The Peninsula Bangkok from October to December 2021, when he will join the hotel as Artist in Residence. In the meantime, however, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrants can discover, and share, Mr. Jarungjitvittawat’s artistry through the purchase of his specially created mooncake sets.
