THE ST. REGIS BANGKOK PRESENTS TASTE OF SUMMER WITH “NEW TANQUERAY NO. TEN AFTERNOON TEA”

Inspired by classic gin cocktails and their botanical ingredients

The St. Regis Bangkok heralds the arrival of the Thai summer with a new afternoon tea set inspired by Tanqueray No. TEN first launch in Thailand “New Tanqueray No. TEN Afternoon Tea” evoking the fresh citrus and botanical notes of summer.
 
The “New Tanqueray No. TEN Afternoon Tea” experience is available from 1 March to 16 May 2020 at The St. Regis Bar.

The savory delights draw influence from well-known gin cocktails, including the “Gimlet”-cured scallop ceviche which sees thinly sliced fresh seafood marinated with lime juice. The distinct bitterness of Negroni lends itself to the pairing of beef pastrami and mustard cream on “Negroni” jelly, while the citrus flavors of a classic gin cocktail is highlighted in the parma ham, infused melon, “Tom Collins” essence dish.
 
The botanical ingredients of gin are also referenced in other savory creations including the spinach and parmesan cheese quiche with juniper cream. The classic afternoon tea scones are reimagined as lemon scones and chocolate and rosemary scones.
 
Citrus, juniper, liquorice, coriander and other Tanqueray No. TEN botanicals provide the inspiration for the sweet selection in the new afternoon tea, including a decadent liquorice flourless cake and coriander whipped ganache bon bon. The classic cheesecake is given a summer twist in botanical cheesecake, while summer vibes are infused in the grapefruit and pineapple shot with gin jelly.

A selection of three Tanqueray No. TEN cocktails have been specially crafted to complement the tasting palate of the small batch gin. Midsummer is refreshingly fruity owing to the presence of pink grapefruit and lime juices. Named after the striking hue butterfly pea tea imparts on the cocktail, Purple Rain also leans on peach and other citrus notes, while the stirred Floral Blossom offers the subtle aromas of elderflower and Manzanilla wine’s chamomile flavor.
 
The New Tanqueray No. TEN Afternoon Tea experience is priced at THB 1,600++ per set including tea or coffee for two persons. Midsummer, Purple Rain, and Floral Blossom Tanqueray No. TEN cocktails are priced at THB 490++ per glass.
 
The afternoon tea is presented during 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM from 1 March to 16 May 2020 at The St. Regis Bar and The Drawing Room on the 12th floor of The St. Regis Bangkok.
