That moment arrived recently at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok, where the riverside hotel welcomed guest Chef Jacky Cui from the celebrated Yun Pavilion at Conrad Guangzhou for a short but memorable culinary collaboration.
Chef Cui, known in Guangzhou for his refined take on classic Cantonese cooking, brought with him the quiet confidence of a dim sum master. Rather than simply presenting dishes, he chose to share his craft. The highlight of the visit was an intimate Dim Sum Masterclass, offering guests a rare opportunity to step behind the kitchen doors and learn the delicate techniques that define authentic Cantonese dumplings.
The experience then continued where Cantonese cuisine truly belongs — at the dining table.
The collaboration culminated in a special Sunday Brunch on March 1, where Chef Cui’s creations were woven into a generous spread of international favourites. The result was a satisfying balance between refined Cantonese craftsmanship and the relaxed indulgence Bangkok brunch-goers have come to expect.
Priced at THB 2,884 nett, the brunch offered guests a chance to explore these flavours against one of the city’s most recognisable backdrops: the gentle sweep of the Chao Phraya River.
Appropriately titled “East Meets Riverside,” the event brought a small taste of Guangzhou to Bangkok — and reminded diners that great cuisine, much like the river itself, travels effortlessly across borders.
