Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel hosted a magnificent Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to mark the beginning of the Christmas and New Year festive season. This year’s celebration was presented under the concept “Legacy in White,” reflecting the hotel’s timeless elegance while celebrating its rich artistic heritage and enduring cultural legacy.
The concept draws inspiration from the majestic mural painting located at the hotel’s main staircase landing, a masterpiece by the late Khun Kuad Phaiboon Suwannakud, a pioneering master of contemporary Thai mural painting. The mural portrays the founding of Bangkok as the capital and the establishment of the Chakri Dynasty, serving as an iconic identity of Anantara Siam Bangkok for over four decades and remaining a symbol of its timeless grandeur today.

The ceremony featured a series of captivating performances that seamlessly wove together stories from the past, the present, and the beginning of Anantara Siam Bangkok’s new chapter. Highlights included Royal Compositions, Christmas melodies performed by the Orchestra de Bangkok, operatic vocal performances, and a special fusion of traditional Thai artistry and international flair by Keng-Thachaya Prathumwan, a renowned national artist and winner of The Voice Thailand.
The event was graced by Mr. Thanwut Wutthitham, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Akkarawit Thepasit, Deputy Governor for Administration of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), who co-chaired the annual 2025 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to celebrate the festive season and spread joy and color among visitors.

They were welcomed by Mr. Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International; Mr. Ian Di Tullio, Chief Commercial Officer of Minor Hotels; and Mr. Torsten Richter, General Manager of Anantara Siam Bangkok, together with the hotel’s executive team. The evening also welcomed numerous celebrities and distinguished guests, including Patawan Suwannakud and family, contestants from Mister International Thailand 2025, Patty-Paritchayada Piriyametha, Chef Inn Narongrit Saekho, Patty-Pimaporn Sermpanichkit, and many others.
For this year’s Christmas tree, Anantara Siam Bangkok collaborated for the first time with INTHAI Studio, a collective of young Thai artists celebrated for their craftsmanship and commitment to supporting local artisans. The resulting “Heritage Tree Lighting” design interprets stories from the hotel’s mural painting and transforms them into a contemporary, sustainable, and eco-friendly craft creation. The tree incorporates traditional wisdom such as handweaving, bamboo basketry, gold leaf application, and delicate golden swallows woven from bamboo—symbols of hope, good fortune, and new beginnings. These intricate elements were meticulously crafted by community artisans from Udon Thani and Sa Kaeo provinces.
The Christmas tree is prominently displayed in the hotel lobby and at the entrance, bringing festive warmth and delight to both Thai and international guests throughout the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
