The event, led by renowned instructor Kru Hong, Mejirasaya Uiwatanachai, featured an exclusive appearance by one of her most influential mentors, a 68-year-old model and close friend. The highlight of the event was an intimate interview with Yazeemmenah Rossi, who shared life stories that challenged conventional mindsets, offering warmth, wisdom, and practical advice for daily living. Siriraj Hospital is collaborating with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to pioneer aged care innovation in Southeast Asia by hosting the Siriraj x MIT Hacking Medicine in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the theme ‘Scaling Aged Care in Developing Countries’, the event will bring the brightest minds together to innovate on aged care solutions for developing countries in Asia.
 
The 'Siriraj x MIT Hacking Medicine' project under the topic 'Scaling Aged Care in Developing Countries' consists of an academic conference to be held on October 29, 2024. There will be international experts, startups, and investors from various industries as guest speakers to provide knowledge about elderly care from different perspectives and discuss problems towards sustainable solutions.
 
Followed by the "Hackathon" competition to gather ideas to combat the health problems of the elderly in developing countries in Bangkok between November 1-3, 2024. This is a major Hackathon event in Thailand designed to promote the gathering of ideas to invent innovative solutions for elderly care through teamwork.
 
It opens opportunities for students, academics, experts, and the general public who have ideas for developing healthcare in various fields such as engineering, medicine, design, policy management, and business management. The winners of the competition will receive "Golden Tickets" to participate in the 'MIT Grand Hack 2025' to be held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel presents "ENDLESS VENEZIA", a journey through the contemporary iconography of Endless, one of the world’s most celebrated street artists. The exhibition, curated by renowned London gallery, Cris Contini Contemporary, is now on display until 3 November 2024. Guests are invited to explore the creative world of Endless, the first street artist in history to exhibit at the Venice Art Biennale, as well as enjoy the vibrant atmosphere as the city celebrates the 60th edition of its world-famous International Art Exhibition.
 
Endless, a London-based artist celebrated for challenging boundaries, blends contemporary and street art techniques to redefine his genre. His works provide unbiased observations, exploring themes such as humanity’s relationship with fashion, advertising, brand-worship, consumerism and celebrity culture. In addition to collaborations with international artists such as Gilbert & George and fashion brands including Karl Lagerfeld and Fiorucci, Endless has also been recognised by the Uffizi Galleries and is the first street artist to be featured in the prestigious Medici collection. 

Nestled in the lush green jungle, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, in collaboration with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF), successfully hosted a two-day event in celebration of World Elephant Day. The event, held on August 12-13, 2024, aimed to raise awareness about the critical role elephants play in ecosystems and to support elephant conservation initiatives. This year’s festivities included cultural ceremonies reflecting the spirit of Thailand, a craft market, a fruit feast for elephants, and educational activities for students from Chiang Rai and guests. 

World Elephant Day, on August 12th, began with an interactive learning session for students, featuring education on elephant anatomy and behaviour led by a resident veterinarian. The session included target training, a method of training elephants that aligns with elephants' natural behaviours and eliminates the use of harmful tools. This was followed by seed planting activities designed to cultivate awareness of the importance of elephants and nature. The event also featured a craft market showcasing handcrafted art and products from local artisans, with this year’s highlight being live painting performances by local artists. The day concluded with a grand buffet of favourite fruits and vegetables for the elephants. 

The second day commenced with a sacred elephant blessing ceremony, known as the 'Pakham Ceremony,' performed by the Khru Ba Yai or Elephant Spirit Men from Surin. The celebration concluded with a hosted lunch and a learning session with students from The School of the Blind, Mae Sai.

“In celebrating World Elephant Day we aim to share knowledge and highlight the importance of elephants, demonstrating their way of life to enhance awareness and foster an understanding of their crucial role in the conservation of ecosystems where they live in the wild as well as celebrating their cultural importance to Thailand” said John Roberts, Group Director of Sustainability & Conservation at the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation and Minor Hotels.

“This year’s World Elephant Day event was a heartfelt gesture from our community to the elephants. We aimed to make an impact by planting seeds of awareness among students and guests about the importance of elephants and conservation. Additionally, we featured live painting performances and a handcraft market to support the indigenous knowledge and skills of local artisans” said Arnaud Béril, General Manager of Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort.

Since its establishment in 2003, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort has worked alongside the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF) to care for the 20 elephants it has rescued from Thailand’s city streets and illegal logging camps, as well as supported their mahouts and families.
