Rice serves as the foundation and essence of life for the Thai people, representing a cultural legacy that has been cherished through generations. This includes preserving invaluable local wisdom in rice cultivation that must be safeguarded and passed on. "Central Tham" initiative, embodying the philosophy of "Better Together," is a sustainability project launched by the Central Group to enhance awareness of the diverse range of Thai rice. This includes more than 19 high-value and nearly extinct native rice types sourced from 10 communities across 8 provinces in Thailand, underscoring rice's significance not just as a food source but also as a vital economic asset for the nation.

The largest rice festival in Thailand is back, showcasing a wide array of rice varieties from across the country in a single celebration. Visit the Central Tham Pavilion, themed “Tham Kub Kao - Thai Rice, Thai Flavors”, at the Thailand Rice Fest 2024, taking place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, LG floor, Hall 6, from now until 15 December 2024.
