(30 January 2026 – Bangkok, Thailand) — Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok turns up the heat with the much-anticipated transformation of Bar.Yard, the city’s boldest rooftop bar and dining experience. With a refreshed identity, an elevated food and beverage programme and unapologetically vibrant energy, Bar.Yard is here to redefine what a night out in Bangkok should feel like.

“We’ve always believed a great night starts with the right elements; atmosphere, energy and flavour,” says Patrick Both, General Manager of Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok and Director of Operations, Luxury & Lifestyle, IHG Hotels & Resorts Thailand. “Bar.Yard has always been more than just a rooftop bar with a view. Now, we’ve taken everything our guests love and turned it up.”
The Look: Reignited. Reborn.
Bar.Yard’s revamped look is inspired by Bangkok’s ever-present heat, realized by global design firm Chapman Taylor. The new visual identity brings Thai pride to the forefront with the Thai numeral for 40 anchoring the logo, a nod to the rooftop’s elevation and the temperature of its vibe. A vivid colour palette, pattern-forward uniforms and a bold lineup of visual motifs, from the Hornbill to the Bird of Paradise, The Serpent, and The Sun, create a visual universe that’s instantly recognizable and effortlessly photogenic.

All-new team uniforms have been brought to life by Thai fashion brand Leisure Projects, known for its creativity-meets-function philosophy. Designer Nattapon Kanokvaleewong was inspired by the vibrant energy of the new Bar.Yard era, pairing the eye-catching colours and prints of the refreshed identity with breezy silhouettes and fabrics utilizing natural fibres to suit Bangkok’s climate.
Comfort has been thoughtfully reimagined through a more fluid spatial layout, designed to adapt effortlessly from intimate moments to high-energy nights; whether you’re flying solo, on a date or arriving deep with your party crew — all within a space that stays cool, calm and inviting, even as the city heats up.

The Food: Pan-Latin Soul Meets Thai Heat
Leading the kitchen is Chef Julio César Concha Muñoz, bringing a globally influenced perspective shaped by his Peruvian roots and extensive experience across Latin America and beyond. Most recently from Rio de Janeiro’s Michelin-recognised Ocyá Leblon, Chef Julio’s approach at Bar.Yard is ready to take centre-stage, fusing his precise techniques with Pan-Latin flavours and Thai ingredients.

The menu celebrates diversity, contrast and the balance found in-between: vibrant Latin marinades, smoky grills and citrus-driven sauces collide with Bangkok’s spice, herbs and street-food energy. Designed for sharing, the dishes move smoothly from dinner into late-night revelry, mirroring the rhythm of Bar.Yard itself.

“Latin cuisine is about joy, intensity and coming together,” says Chef Julio. “Here in Bangkok, I’m layering that spirit with Thai flavours and local produce to create food that feels alive, exciting, social and meant to be enjoyed without rules.”

The Drinks: Bold Sips, Big Statements
Bar.Yard’s refreshed drinks programme is designed to match the energy of its elevated dining and entertainment experience. The cocktail list brings together inspiration from Thai culture and the surrounding neighbourhood, delivering playful signatures, reimagined classics and drinks made to start conversations and keep the good times going.

Highlights include the BDSM (Best Damn Spicy Margarita), a fiery crowd-pleaser layering Altos Plata tequila with pomegranate, goji berry and smoked chipotle, finished with mezcal and a lime mist for aromatic impact. Do You Dare brings a cheeky sense of adventure to the menu, blending Acholado pisco and Campari with a homemade bell pepper and raspberry cordial; an unexpected yet refreshing combination, while Mamuang Suk channels Thai-Latin comfort through cachaça, spiced falernum, homemade mango cordial, tamarind and a rich coconut-corn blend.
Whether you're craving a complex, spirit-forward pour with a touch of flair or something easy-drinking, the updated menu offers options for every mood and moment. A thoughtfully curated selection of low-ABV and alcohol-free cocktails also ensures that everyone can enjoy a fun night out on their own terms.

The Sound: Afro House Takes Over
Under the creative direction of music partner and curator Tek Harrington, Bar.Yard now pulses with Afro House beats — a globally resonant sound built on soulful rhythms, tribal percussion and late-night energy.

With a striking custom DJ podium, evolving live music programming and a growing roster of local and international guest acts, the stage is literally set for nights that linger long after the music fades.

Perched on the 40th floor of Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Bar.Yard welcomes guests from early evening through late night, offering a seamless transition from sunset drinks to after-dark energy. Open from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Sunday to Wednesday, and extending the night until 2:00 a.m., Thursday to Saturday.
