Khun Preecha Ninatkiattikul, General Manager, MINI Thailand said, “This road trip has been thoughtfully crafted to celebrate MINI’s 60 years anniversary on the concept ‘Wanderlust’. Wander means to move in a leisurely way while lust indicates passion and those who practice them are called ‘Wanderlusters’. It is a description that brings to life the wonderful road trip and unites all MINIsters across the nation including the MINI Classic and the new MINI groups. We believe that everyone will enjoy exploring new places and forging a strong bond by sharing passionate MINI stories. Along the journey, we will definitely meet MINI fans that welcome us and want to join the caravan as well as help us out in our CSR activities”
Passionate Wanderlusters to pay it forward in contributions to society
Another highlight of the trip is the contribution that MINIsters and authorized MINI dealers will be making to local communities along the way. The key activities include helping children in need where participants will hand over books, clothes and shoes to Sukhothai Special Education Center, Suan Dok Khun Public Library in Khon Kaen and Pichaisuksa school in Ubon Ratchathani. Central Pattana and SuperDry are partners that help drive contribution and awareness towards the less fortunate in society. The wanderlusters also become beach cleaning volunteer in Bang Saray beach, Chonburi.
The MINI caravan will also take time out to give the gift of clean water in Ubon Ratchathani through Care4Water, the initiative set up in 2015 with continued support from BMW Group Thailand. Sixty units of water filters will be provided to the communities improving the quality of life of people as well as the training of these rural communities on how to assemble, clean and maintain the water filters. This enables community members to take care of the filters by themselves for long-term use and pass on the knowledge to fellow residents.
“I believe there are plenty of people who love travelling, but to explore hidden gems of travelling spots in Thailand with those who share the same passion will be such a unique experience for all of us. As a ‘wanderluster’ myself, I said yes to joining the trip with MINI Thailand in a heartbeat. I am more than ready to broaden my horizons, discover historical landmarks, join great CSR activities and meet new MINI friends in every region. This is such a once-in-a-lifetime road trip across Thailand, driven by passion and a true life experience,” said Khun Panithan (Pik) Katchapanan, one of the participants in the MINI Wanderlust trip
