It’s a beautiful garden in Giverny which appeared in Monet’s paintings. Monet is an influential artist having a vital role in impressionism art movement. This garden is not just esthetics in the paintings but it’s real. Its location is not far from Paris. Giverny is a community in northern France. A one-day trip is recommended by getting on the train at Paris Saint Lazare station. This train station also appeared in Monet’s paintings.
Monet was living in Giverny from 1833 until his death in 1926. There are two parts in Monet’s garden: a flower garden called Clos Normand which is colorful and vivid. Daffodils, tulips, irises, and poppies around the central alley leading to the house are covered with honeysuckle during June-September. At the end of the orange nasturtiums invade the soil with pleasant scent.
There was a Japanese inspired water garden on the other side of the road. The two parts of Monet’s garden contrast and complement one another. Over the years, he hired gardeners to plant flowers in order to make it beautiful and peaceful. It’s suitable for creating hundreds of paintings so this garden is his entire life. Monet’s fortunes began to change for the better as his dealer, Paul Durand-Ruel, had increasing in selling his paintings. He gained enough money to buy this house. As Monet's wealth grew, his garden evolved.

The blue kitchen is one of the most beautiful rooms of the house, along with the yellow dining rooms full of his favorite Japanese engravings. On the second floor, you can visit Monet’s bedroom. They are all opened for public visit and accommodation. There is a French restaurant called Les nymphéas opposite to the house. La capucine is just a few steps away. March-April are in full bloom.
