The City of Angels is about to get even hotter, with legendary DJ Sandy Rivera of Kings of Tomorrow fame jetting in from New York City. For one night only, the DJ spins the decks at SEEN Restaurant & Bar, bringing his distinctive style of house to Bangkok’s newest rooftop.
Saturday 11 May marks the inaugural launch of SEEN Sessions, with pulsating beats taking over the exclusive rooftop playground at AVANI+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel monthly. DJs from all over the world will be flown in to pump up the music. Our first guest star, Sandy Rivera, is one of this generation’s finest DJs, producers and label owners, with multiple award-winning tracks to his name. Born of Spanish Harlem, his catchy riffs draw on everything from soul, funk and disco to create an energetic trance.
Sandy Rivera is best known for the single “Finally”, released in 2000 under his Kings of Tomorrow moniker. He is also the vision behind labels Defected and Blackwiz Records, with producing credits for megastars Craig David, Moby, and Everything But The Girl.
The night will kick off at 6:00 pm with warm-up acts including DJs Scotty B, Smiley and Kinky D. The gathering at the hotel’s poolside was to celebrate Songkran or Thai New Year and promote Thai culture. The company donated 41 used gym bikes from Virgin Active’s Empire Tower branch to be used at Lumpini Youth Center’s fitness room with an aim to encourage more Thais to get fit.
