About Hong Kong Design Centre: www.hkdesigncentre.org.hk
TODAY, creative districts are blossoming across many Asian cities with young designers and professionals trying to create a playing field that has no borders between disciplines, cultures and nations.

During the Bangkok Design Week, eight Hong Kong brands with ten designers invited visitors to rethink the concepts of design. The exhibition DXHK-BANGKOK Pocket Worlds organised by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) and sponsored by CreateHK of the HKSAR Government; their eight suitcases were revealed to explore possibilities for design in a new world.

A design piece alone can be fascinating, but for the design to fulfil its potential in shaping the course of society, it requires an in-depth understanding of the needs and missing links in the society both locally and internationally through user research and design thinking process. Most importantly, collaborations between disciplines, backgrounds and sectors are vital. Bangkok Design Week may have drawn its curtains, but it is only the beginning for more exciting co-creations between artists of the two cities and the world.
