Preparations are underway for Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside’s annual music showpiece, Last Night of the Proms. The 1st November event will combine exceptional musical performances and Shrewsbury’s warmest hospitality.
Based on a musical festival that was first staged in Britain over 120 years ago, “The Shrewsbury Proms” has become a hugely popular feature of the Bangkok performance calendar. This year’s concert, inspired by the theme “Magic and Fantasy”, will feature items ranging from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” to the musical score from Game of Thrones, alongside the traditional Proms favourites Jerusalem and Rule Britannia, all performed in Shrewsbury’s world class auditorium.
We are also excited to announce a special appearance from internationally renowned guest conductor, Bundit Ungrangsee. Bundit is an international symphonic conductor who has led orchestras such as the Seoul Philharmonic and the Orchestra Internazionale D’Italia.
In addition to the musical offerings, guests will enjoy a pre-concert international free-flow buffet, whilst post-concert cocktails and fireworks by the Chao Phraya River will round off what promises to be a truly magical evening of entertainment at Shrewsbury.
Tickets are limited. For more information and booking instructions visit the school’s website at www.shrwsbury.ac.th/riverside/events-community/proms2018 or call 02 675 1888.
