THE REGION’S LEADING HOTEL GROUP CLINCHES FOUR PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
For the fifth consecutive year, Accor has won Best Global Hotel Chain at the 30th Annual TTG Travel Awards Ceremony held in Bangkok, Thailand. The group also celebrated the inauguration of Raffles Hotel Singapore into the TTG Hall of Fame and Sofitel Legend Metropole was awarded Best City Hotel in Hanoi. Accor’s economy brand, ibis, also won Best Budget Hotel Brand for the sixth time.
The TTG Travel Awards is the most coveted and influential awards in the regions’ travel industry that honour leading organisations and individuals who consistently demonstrate a commitment towards service excellence. Winners are selected by readers of TTG trade magazines through a voting process.

Patrick Basset has a long affiliation with Asia, moving to Thailand in 1993 to lead Accor’s flagship hotel at that time, Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square. He went on to take up various senior executive roles with Accor throughout Asia. Currently, he oversees more than 185 hotels, 41,966 rooms and 27,000 employees in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan and the Maldives.

The group currently operates 39 hotel brands within its portfolio and opens one hotel every three days on average within the region. Accor opened its 1100th hotel in Asia Pacific in June 2019 with the launch of Sofitel Beijing Central.
