The Maurice Lacroix AIKON Venturer has been a resounding success for the watch brand. A couple of years ago, the Swiss marque released its urban watch in a suit of honey-toned bronze. Now, the company is delighted to unveil a new bronze iteration of the Venturer Bronze, limited to just 288 pieces, created exclusively for Asia.
In 2017, just one year after the inaugural AIKON burst onto the watch scene, Maurice Lacroix released the AIKON Bronze, a model equipped with a quartz movement. The metal, an alloy composed of copper and tin, exhibits a very different appearance to steel. It evinces warmth and acquires a becoming patina over time. Over the years, the AIKON collection has proved to be a huge success for Maurice Lacroix, leading to the release of the robust, go anywhere Venturer and, subsequently, the Venturer Bronze 43mm, a limited-edition model sporting an anthracite dial.
Now, the company from the Franches Montagnes has created a new limited-edition timepiece for the Asian market, the AIKON Venturer Burgundy Asia Limited Edition. The case, measuring 43 mm in diameter, is made of bronze. It is paired with a rich, burgundy dial, a hue that accentuates the coppery notes of the bronze, albeit in some light conditions the alloy appears golden.

This colour combination has been carefully considered. Red has positive connotations and is often linked to vitality, luck and joy. Moreover, it is thought to ward off evil, a helpful characteristic when living in the urban jungle! Golden hues are associated with power and wealth, ensuring the AIKON Venturer Burgundy Asia Limited Edition always makes a statement wherever it goes.
The burgundy dial is enlivened with a sunray motif, while the hands, indexes and date aperture are presented in sumptuous golden tones. Both the hands and indexes are lined with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring superb legibility, day or night. This latest version of the Venturer upholds the AIKON’s successful six-arm bezel design, but in this instance, the bezel rotates and incorporates a burgundy ceramic inlay. Ceramic is a scratch-proof material that helps ensure the watch will retain its factory-fresh appearance for years to come.

The automatic ML115 calibre sits at the heart of this model, located behind a caseback adorned with ‘Vagues du Jura’ motif and the brand’s ‘M’ logo. The AIKON Venturer Burgundy Asia Limited Edition is supplied with two straps, a burgundy rubber strap and a second strap, presented in vintage-style brown leather. Both straps are embellished with a golden M-logo and are fitted with a bronze pin buckle. In addition, the Maurice Lacroix Easy Strap Exchange system provides a simple means of switching one strap for another without the need for tools. The model is limited to just 288 pieces and has been created exclusively for Asia.
