Example of BMW Unbound World of Art Series from leading artists
BMW Z4 by Duangrit Bunnag, Thailand’s Leading Architect
To commemorate the vigorous BMW Art Car #02 by Frank Stella, whose design is like a blueprint transferred onto the bodywork which marked the turning point into three dimensionalities in art design back then. Therefore, Duangrit has incorporated distinctive lines of the BMW Z4 to reflect the model’s robust and dynamic shape by using the technique of color stripe creation, accentuated in powerful black mesh blanketing the entire bodywork. All the lines created are originated from the car and ran artistically across the car’s silhouette, creating connections of lines that are prominent with newly-defined patterns, yet retaining the iconic form of the original BMW Z4.
BMW i8 by Nontawat Charoenchasri, Celebrated Graphic Designer with Passion in ‘Camouflage Design’
As a tribute to BMW Art Car #17 by Jeff Koons, the artistic BMW i8 is beefed up by graphic designer Nontawat with the concept: “FUSION CAMOUFLAGE”. A perfect blend of the artist’s passion in camouflage patterns and desire to present novelty through striking patterns and bold colors, the BMW i8 shows of deconstructed diagram of multi-colored camouflage patterns that was rearranged into layers of contrasting color tones. The result is distinctively different from the original patterns, making the car a piece of remarkable contemporary art that truly reflects the identity and passion for graphic design of the artist.
BMW i3s by Milin Yuvacharuskul, Thailand’s Established Fashion Designer and Founder of ‘MILIN’
Staying true to the legacy of the BMW Art Car #18 BMW M6 GT3 by Cao Fei, which was the first BMW Digital Art Car in the history, Milin has transcended cultural and technological change into the unique BMW i3s through the brand DNA of ‘Milin’. By telling the story of women in the new era with the brand’s key word “Elegant Sensual Rebellious", Milin presents a perspective of material girls who exude classic, elegant charms in her work. The choice of the “Chain” pattern and the M logo of Milin brand in studded- diamond pattern represents sleek luxury that stresses the brand identity perfectly.
