One of Hua Hin’s most anticipated New Year celebrations, the Moulin Rouge de Paris themed gala held at Centara Grand Hua Hin on New Year’s Eve, has undoubtedly reached new heights of success while recreating France’s Belle-Epoque era in all its glory.
As 2019 came to a close, the beachfront resort city of Hua Hin has surely seen its best New Year’s beginning as the iconic Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin impressively hosted The Grand New Year Gala, welcoming 2020 in Parisian style with a Moulin Rouge de Paris themed celebration. The evening featured a spectacular line-up of unbridled live performances, enchanting contemporary beats and outstanding cuisines from around the world.
Led by David Martens (first picture, fourth from left), the hotel’s General Manager and Corporate Director of Operations for Hua Hin, Krabi & Samui, the management team was delighted to welcome guests, who were encouraged to get on board and adorn lavish costume as the historic hotel was transformed to resemble the famous Montmartre district in 1889, to ensure the most glamorous of beginnings.

Well-attended by many familiar members of Hua Hin society, the celebrations continued throughout the night, with an extravaganza of glitz, grandeur and glory for pre-dinner drinks before escalating to the main event — a sumptuous dinner buffet starring the finest cuisines from around the world. All the while, a spectacular line-up of live entertainment awaited to take diners through the history of the Moulin Rouge, with a series of magnificent performances. Highlights included the iconic cabaret with glimmering rhinestones and dazzling sequins, bringing all the fun and excitement needed to wow the audience, while the vivacious French Cancan came back to life in Hua Hin and enchanted spectators with everything you would imagine from a troupe of Cancan High-kickers. |
Big Band sounds under the stars came courtesy of internationally-acclaimed band Big to the Future, which provided the rhythm for guests to dance the night away with the elegance of eras past — until the Champagne was ready to toast, as the hotel’s magnificent fireworks display filled the shimmering skies and rang in 2020 with all the festivities, against the unique backdrop of an historic time and place.
