 | Chivas Masters reveals its finalists, bringing cocktail flavours from around the world to London Leading blended Scotch whisky, Chivas, has revealed the 14 Chivas Masters finalists set to compete for the crown of the Chivas Masters Global Champion 2019 at this year’s final in the United Kingdom from 25 to 29 August. Building on last year’s success, the five-day finale will begin at the home of Chivas, Strathisla distillery in Scotland before heading to London – one of the world’s most dynamic cocktail scenes – for the ultimate challenge to determine this year’s global winner. Hosted at London’s Oval Space on 29 August, cocktail enthusiasts will be able to witness the finalists showcase their creativity and winning blend and vote for their favourite collective bartender team. The Chivas Masters is a global competition that celebrates a community of bartenders who embody Chivas’ core values of success, collaboration and generosity. Built around the belief that blended is better – in life and in Scotch – community sits at the very heart of the competition inspired by founding brothers, James and John Chivas, who shared their success with the local community as their business grew. Through winning serves, the world’s top bartenders will be encouraged to explore and showcase the individual blend that makes them who they are – and how when they collaborate with one another they can achieve even greater success. |
Over the course of the five days, the finalists will take part in a series of masterclasses and challenges where their skills, creativity and collaborative nature will be tested, to prove to the judges they have the right blend to take the Chivas Masters trophy home.
Throughout the week, the finalists will be supported by a team of true tastemakers in the industry, who will be sharing their own unique blend of experiences that have led them to where they are today. Chivas Global Brand Ambassador and UK Champion of Chivas Masters 2017, Rhys Wilson, will play host to this year’s event, bringing his own unique blend to the competition: “Witnessing and tasting the creations of some of the best bartenders from the four corners of the world is always a huge privilege. This year, I’ve been blown away by their tenacity and creativity and the Global Final will be a true celebration of collaboration, where our bartenders will come together for the final time in London to create innovative pop-up cocktail bars and serves, showing that success really is a blend. Taking part in the Chivas Masters myself back in 2017 was a huge turning point in my career, helping me learn a lot about myself, Scotch whisky and the path towards achieving success as a team, so I’m really excited to be here to guide the finalists throughout their Chivas Masters journey.”
