To encourage such thinking, NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM recently held the “Love Yourself, Love the Earth” event at CentralWorld, inviting the young generation to love themselves by drinking healthy coffee and take the first step to be part of the “Love the Earth with Paper Packaging” campaign. To demonstrate the creative reuse of paper packaging, NESCAFÉ put together an eco-Christmas tree featuring ornaments made from used NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM paper packages.
In mid-2019, NESCAFÉ switched to paper packaging for NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM. This was the first step by NESCAFÉ Thailand to introduce innovative secondary packaging to replace plastic, and the first such action by NESCAFÉ globally in line with Nestlé’s commitment to 100% recyclable or reusable packaging by 2025.
To celebrate this Christmas season, NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM came up with the idea of turning used paper packages into cool Christmas ornaments, then delivering a Christmas tree decorated with these ornaments to the children at the Baannokkamin Foundation to give them happiness.
Ms. Naritta Vipulyasekha, Business Manager – NESCAFÉ Coffee Mixes, Nestlé (Thai) Ltd., said, “As NESCAFÉ is Thailand’s No.1 coffee brand, we are dedicated to developing coffee innovations that correspond to the needs of Thai coffee lovers. In addition to offering high-quality coffee with an excellent taste, we are putting greater importance on the environmental aspect of our products.”
Ms. Naritta added, “Today marks the first step for NESCAFÉ helping to make our planet a better place and more livable by using our new paper packaging to create Christmas tree ornaments. At the same time, we encourage consumers to love themselves by drinking healthy coffee such as NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM, and join us in loving the earth by reusing paper packaging to promote the circular economy concept.”
The Love Yourself, Love the Earth event was packed with stars who have a “green heart” including Alex Rendell, Pornpawee Neerasingh, Dhanundhorn Neerasingh, Jackrin Kungwankiatichai, and Teeradon Supapunpinyo. They all joined in a workshop to create ornaments made from used NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM paper packaging to put on the Christmas tree, while Jacky and James serenaded the environmentally-conscious consumers who were participating the event with a medley of nice songs.
Alex Rendell, an actor known for his dedication to the environment, said, “As a Thai, I’m proud that today NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM has shown an awareness of and care for environmental problems, which are something close to us all. Taking a first innovative step towards a big change, NESCAFÉ switched plastic packaging to easily-decomposable paper. This means Thais can enjoy a healthful coffee with a great taste and aroma while being part of the environmental conservation movement.”
Added Pornpawee (Faye) Neerasingh, “Today, I picked up a lot of good ideas that I can adapt for future use. For example, while some people think used paper packaging no longer has any value, when we worked together to come up with ideas for reusing this packaging, we ended up with nice ornaments for a Christmas tree that will be delivered to the Baannokkamin Foundation so the children can have a happy Christmas celebration. So I would like to ask everyone to take a first step in loving our planet by reusing paper packaging. I believe that once we have taken this first step, more will follow.”
This Christmas, have a happier heart by loving the earth. The young generation can double the love by also loving themselves, paying close attention to their mental and physical health. One way to do this is by choosing healthy coffee such as NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM. It contains low fat and no cholesterol, plus extracts from white kidney beans and fiber that help with the excretory system, while maintaining a great taste and aroma, which makes it the perfect cup all in one.
