"We have the intention of making The Givers Network a platform for everyone to share knowledge and experience. We must listen to the diverse opinions of those who have experience of giving in all sectors of society to develop the network to assist collaboration between providers. Society will witness the sharing of various resources to fulfill each person’s mission of giving, including experience and advice. We will continue to work on the platform, which is constantly evolving and developing. And from the overwhelming response from over 500 participants, we set up the annual The Givers Network," said Dr Wit.
In the afternoon, representatives from charities gathered with people interested in the sector to cover a range of issues. The forums covered topics including social issues, challenges from the private sector, social organizations and people, the definition of the term "giver" and the expansion of its value to younger people.
The discussions also addressed challenges to implementing projects transparently and to managing volunteers as well as recommendations for access to funding for social projects and suggestions for sharing experiences of missteps in social sector projects, so that organizations and individuals can learn from them.
The forums further addressed issues relating to the development of the The Givers Network platform, such as how best to build a fully integrated platform for sustainable operation and to manage information on a Big Data platform for sharing between members. Participants gave suggestions for crowd funding raising and explored the challenges to creating a proper user screening system within the platform.
