Full Moon Brewworks, the guys behind the popular Thai craft beer Chalawan Pale Ale, teams up with Tonight’s-the-Greatest chefs to bring you a one-of-a-kind tasting event tonight at Beer Belly. This event dubbed ‘Book Rang Jone’ launches their latest beer, the Jone Ha Ros Milkshake IPA, with fantastical Thai fusion food pairings meant to highlight five complex flavors within the new beer itself.
Tonight’s-the-Greatest is a chef’s table dining experience and brainchild of three young Thai chefs: “We’re a group of friends that have been together for a long time. Our shared passion for cooking led us to open our restaurant together. This evening Chef Po Nattacha Sorathorn brings his contemporary Thai cooking style to the kitchen, while Chef Kikee Nantipat Limbasuta has created a one-off menu for the ‘Book Rang Jone’ theme. The venue has been modeled after a “cool prison” and “lair of thieves” with over-the-top decor and stylized dishes. The concept of the ‘Last Meal’ serves up small bites with big flavors to leave lasting impressions. Dig in for outrageous menu items like Jail Snacks, Meatballs-from-visiting-relatives, Prison Dip, Repentant Cookies, and more!” – Chef Tle Pheelapol Jivacharoenchai.

Khun Sukij Thipatima, the Full Moon Brewworks head brewer and co-founder, explains the unusual name ‘Jone Ha Ros’ (Five Thief Flavors) as being spun from the phrase ‘Jone Ha Roi’ (Five Hundred Thieves) to denote five complex flavors. The names ‘Book Rang Jone’ and ‘Jone Ha Ros’ are a cheeky play on words inspired by this well-known saying. Tonight’s new beer is brewed with Talus hops from the world-famous Yakima farm along with other rare ingredients. You’ll enjoy a harmoniously fruity bouquet that still preserves the unmistakable taste of an IPA – real craft fans won’t want to miss this one.
Khun Sukij believes that craft brewing shares a lot in common with cooking. Like chefs, the brewers search for new flavors to create something new and different. The challenge of creating this new beer was a welcome opportunity for everyone at Full Moon Brewworks. Most IPAs are hard to drink because of an overpowering flavor of strong hops. The Milkshake IPA, a relatively new style in the world of craft beer is easier to drink because of the added lactose – creating a smoother body with creamy mouthfeel. The detailed brewing process required a lot of trial and error with careful attention to the ingredients.
The ‘Jone Haa Ros Milkshape IPA’ is a Full Moon Brewworks limited release as both draft and bottled beer. Draft beer will be available at leading taprooms in Bangkok only from November to December this year. Only 7,500 pasteurized bottles are to be produced and sold for 149 baht per bottle at leading craft beer shops and Tops supermarket.
