For the first time ever, OneSiam, the global landmark combining 3 renowned shopping destinations, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery, in association with Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation, is unveiling the latest project to transform Bangkok into a world-class city of art and culture in ‘Bangkok Art Biennale 2018’.
Under the concept ‘Beyond Bliss’, the festive event will feature artwork and installations from renowned creators including the avant-garde and legendary master Yayoi Kusama, and South Korea’s visual artist who’s famously known for using recycled and reusable materials, Choi Jeong Hwa, and many more. Critically acclaimed and award-winning visual artist and designer Choi Jeong Hwa has been known for his large-scale sculptures and incorporating public space into artwork which easily be seen from a distance. His knack and repertoire of talent include using recycled materials to produce signature work including ‘Happy Happy Project: Love Me Pig I’, a piece constructed from synthetic textile which is to be displayed at Atrium 1, G Fl., Siam Center from October 18 – 26, 2018. In addition, his work ‘Happy Happy Project: Love Me Pigs 30 Miniature’ will be showcased and on sale to art enthusiasts at Idea Avenue, G Fl., Siam Center from October 18 – November 4, 2018.
Artist from the Land of the Morning Calm, Choi Jeong Hwa has also opted for recycled materials to feature in his work, using plastic and fiberglass in ‘Happy Happy Project: Alchemy’, ‘Happy Happy Project: Plastic Shotguns’, and ‘Happy Happy Project: Anthuriums Flower’ at G Fl., Siam Discovery The Exploratorium from October 17, 2018 – Feburary 3, 2019.
One of 20th Century’s most influential performance artists, Marina Abramovic has agreed to participate in performing in front of art enthusiasts, accompanied by personal presentation.
