Completing an MBA at GLOBIS University, Japan’s largest graduate school of management, is helping Thai students realize their dream of working in a senior position overseas. A comprehensive internship placement program, supportive GLOBIS career office, and extensive Corporate Mentorship program helps students develop a meaningful international career after developing the necessary skill sets required to work in the modern workplace on the university’s innovative MBA Courses. |
The GLOBIS full-time MBA is an accelerated, one-year MBA program that arms students with the skills and network need to thrive in today’s global workplace. Studying in the center of Tokyo, classes are held during weekdays, and the final 2-3 months of the course are spent on internship applying their skills in a Japanese environment. This job placement can result in GLOBIS University students being offered employment after graduation.
Thai students are among the beneficiaries of a GLOBIS education. Since studying in Japan in 2014, HR professional Sidchana Mahasupachai has progressed her career, firstly in Singapore, before moving to a more senior position in Thailand. “After working in HR since graduating I wanted to improve my knowledge of the business side of things. I chose to study at GLOBIS primarily because of the curriculum, as I was very interested in Innovation, Venture and Management philosophy, and course like Keiei Dojo which focuses on developing your self-awareness and social skills, is unique to GLOBIS.”
“After graduating GLOBIS Career Office provided a lot of support and helped me secure a position with a Japanese company in Singapore, where I worked for two years. But the career support team not only provide you available job opportunities, they also spend time to understand your Kokorozashi (Personal mission) and find out what you want to achieve in life. They then match you with the opportunities that are available to help you achieve your life goals.”

Yoshito Hori, GLOBIS University President, said “Our philosophy at GLOBIS is built on three core pillars: people, capital and knowledge. Our unique MBA curriculum, which incorporates our ‘Technovate’ philosophy and developing your ‘Kokorozashi’ – or personal mission – has given our students the tools to be able to succeed in any environment, and prepares them well for excelling in high-achieving international environments. Our teams work hard to ensure the students have a rewarding internship experience, and this results in over 65% of our students securing a position with a Japanese company.”
GLOBIS’ unique Technovate courses bring the worlds of business and technology together, giving students exposure to next-generation technologies like Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and Fintech, amongst others. Exposure to this new language of business gives GLOBIS students the knowledge, skills and mindset to bridge the gap between business and technology, and drive innovation.
Studying at GLOBIS provides more than just academic study, as students have the opportunity to study in one of the world’s leading business and cultural centers. Tokyo is home to many Fortune Global 500 companies and a thriving start-up scene, and also some of the world’s finest shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.
“Japan is one of my favorite travel destinations, and I love the people, the food and the culture. It was an important factor in my choice of study location,” added Sidchana. “And studying at GLOBIS in Japan, in a new environment, also encouraged me to think out of the box, speak up and step out of my comfort zone. For a Thai student like me who usually did not dare to speak up, this was a life changing experience. The experience has allowed me to achieve my personal mission, and motivate me to go further than I thought possible.”
Registration deadline for the GLOBIS one-year MBA is on 25th March 2020, with the course set to begin in September 2020.
